I used to have a five star review on this place. Changed it to a three star. Now it’s 100% a one star. Me and my friends have been coming to this place for over 20 years but has not been the same since the owner passed away. Apparently, the daughter took over and nothing is the same. Me and my first boyfriend’s first date was here. Now he’s my husband and we’re both very disappointed. We would order a couple hundred dollars worth of tacos every single week. I ordered a delivery order and did not receive my complementary salsa, which is my favorite thing here. I also ordered queso but received no chips. I called down thinking it was a mistake But was told the owner decided they no longer will provide salsa for delivery only Dine in and pick up. I told her I also ordered queso, but did didn’t receive my chips She told me they also do not provide chips unless you order them. I was so upset. Today, I really wanted to get some tacos for my boss and told him how great this place was. I wanted Him to try the salsa. I walked in and ordered it in person. I ordered three meals and wanted to make sure that also was included. She told me yes so I waited 15 And another woman tried to take my payment before the food was ready. Right before I paid I wanted to make sure again that was told no salsa would not Complementary unless I stay to eat my food. I let her know what I was told a few months back That it would be as long as I picked up Also, that the woman who took my order said yes. She looked at me crazy and said no. I don’t understand what the big deal is if I physically sat down to eat or took it to go. But I 100% will no longer Recommend this place Nor Eat her again. I understand it’s just salsa, but what Mexican restaurant does not provide complementary salsa? It’s just the customer service and the food quality over the last few years has gone down significantly. This has to be the reason why It’s always closed these days and no no...
Read moreWe have been patrons for the last 2 years. We usually order 3-4x a month. We use to-go almost every time. 90% of the time, the order is correct. The other 10% is usually no big deal. (Being in the "biz", I am very understanding & forgiving). But tonight, I got frustrated. I noticed that the last 2 previous orders didn't contain ANY chips so I decided to make sure they were included tonight. When I went in to pick up my order, No Chips... I asked the host (who was in charge of to-go) for chips. He says "To-go doesnt get chips anymore, unless they are ordered separately." I said "Oh ok, that must be new." Host: " It is. We sent out flyers with all to-go orders for the last few months, indicating the change." Me: "Um, ok. Weird that we never received even one."... So we walk out the door and see a hand written flyer stating the same policy EXCEPT it also says that chips will only be given to-go IF YOU ORDER A DIP. Which we did! They just didn't wanna come off the chips. Now, if you're going to cut corners, chips is not the way to go. They're probably the cheapest item in the restaurant. Hence why they're free on the table at every Mexican restaurant on the planet. What really chapped my hide? Being flat out LIED to by the host. We ordered a dip, still no. He simply didn't want to come off the chips. I can forgive and forget honest errors. But don't lie to my face. Really soured us on the whole...
Read moreI'm updating my review: This place is really good and genuine. After eating here nearly every week for about a year I'm editing my review. This place is great. We never had any issues and the servers are always friendly. When you sit down they bring you chips and salsa, which is delicious. Their margaritas are very good and 2 for 1 before 7PM (I think that's the cutoff). I'm a creature of habit and usually get the Tacos Delicioso (sp), Chile Ranchero, and some margaritas. The tacos are similar to what some people consider street tacos, but I call them delicious. I always have leftovers.
Here's my review from the first time I went (2 years ago): I sat in the bar area and the service was excellent. I ordered the number 7 which comes with an enchilada and a chile relleno. I ordered a carne asada taco on the side. The chile relleno is slightly different than what I expected. What Los Loros serves as "chile relleno" is a mixture of cheese and ground beef in a green chile and then fried. I'm used to just getting the same, but without the meat when I've ordered chile relleno's from other places. It was very good as were the enchilada and the carne asada tacos. I think it was one of the owners who told me that I need to order the chile ranchero if I want what I believe to be a chile relleno. All that aside, I will go back because the food was really good and the price was great as was...
