I was there last Sunday 7/9, with my brother. The experience was saddening. A bald guy working in there is racist and does not want the money or patronage of people that look differently than he does. We were the only Americans in there at the time, so I can't say if he hates all Americans or just the darker ones, but we were not welcome. Our experience took place at the back of the line, and no one else was treated like we were. My brother and I were never greeted. We were only asked, "What are you looking for?" When I stated what I was planning to order, Paisa, the guy said they didn't have that, and they were closing soon. I then asked if I could have some empanadas. His response then was, "No, we had a problem in the kitchen." So I asked, "What do you have?" He then stated they had "nothing" to serve. My response was, "Well, what are they ordering?" He couldn't really respond and finally muttered, "Oh, some bakery stuff." It was 12:13pm, and 47 minutes before closing. There were approximately 5 or 6 customers in line ahead of us. Read moreThis place is easy to miss in a small shopping center, but so worth the stop. My wife and I went late in the afternoon and got one of their last pastries (they have a lot more in the morning). This place is authentic and delicious!
It's small, and you might feel a bit strange if it's your first time here and you don't speak Spanish, but the employees are very welcoming and friendly. If you don't know what's going on or what something behind the glass is, then just ask.
