Trio Hookah Lounge — Restaurant in Jacksonville

First and last time visiting Trio. So my sister and I decided to give this hookah lounge a try for a girls night out. Upon arrival we checked in with the hostess and she informed us that there was a wait for the inside and proceeded to take my name and number to let us know when a table was available. She also stated that if there was a table outside we could go a head and sit there. We went outside and a group of people were leaving so we asked the hostess if we could have that table she said yes it was ok. After sitting there for a min a man who seemed to be some form of management looked at the table where we sat and said he will have a waiter come over to get our order. We sat for maybe 15 mins and no one came over. It was a bit busy so we were like okay let’s give them a little more time. After 20 mins no one waiter came to acknowledge us still. The table was wet as well as the menus from the last people who were sitting there. We continued to be patient. There were 3 other tables near us and there was a male waiter checking on one of the table s and a female waitress checking on the other table, still no acknowledgment that we are sitting there without being serviced. Soon after we noticed a group of 4 people being seated at a table behind us. The same guy who seemed to be the manger informed them that a waiter would be right with them. So maybe 2 mins of them being seated the waitress ( young woman with golden blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail or bun) who waited on the table in front of us walks pass our table to greet the group who had just sat down. So we got her attention to let her know that we have been waiting and she abruptly said “Oh well I was told me to go to their table” and walked away. At that point we just got up and left. It was a very rude encounter with the waitress which we didn’t deserve and were treated as if we were not welcome in this...

I’m a regular at Trio Hookah Lounge in Jacksonville, but my experience today was extremely disappointing. My server, Shelly, was inattentive despite there being only three customers in the lounge. She took a long time to check on us, and to make things worse, she told my friend she couldn’t eat a small snack because outside food isn’t allowed — then proceeded to go to the bar herself and eat Subway in plain view.

When I ordered, Shelly asked for my ID (which is fine, I appreciate that), but right after, another girl walked in and was able to get a hookah without being asked for ID at all. That double standard didn’t sit right with me.

I also ordered an espresso martini that was poorly made. I politely asked if she could add a bit more Irish cream, and she offered to remake it. Unfortunately, the second drink was even worse. I then asked Karina (who’s always great when I visit) if she could help. She admitted she wasn’t confident making it but was willing to try. As this was happening, Shelly came by to change the coals, rolled her eyes, and made a snide remark: “It’s the same recipe so it won’t be a change.” Completely uncalled for.

I’ve always enjoyed coming here, but today’s service left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope management addresses this because this isn’t the experience regulars (or any customer)...
