I went with my parents to American Freight, Debby and Bo Tarafa to purchase a sofa, they had gone just about everywhere from Port Orange now to Jacksonville with no luck, not counting the grief you get from salesmen just because you didn't find anything you liked in the store until we hit this one particular store in Jacksonville, it was so overwhelming the difference not only with the salesmen, but the atmosphere, the total store in general, but Biff made this the most FANTASTIC experience ever! Biff was "SIMPLY AMAZING"! The way Biff treats you; it was like you were long lost friends that just stumbled upon each other in a long time. He was kind, knowledge, helpful, his whole demeanor was beyond words. You felt like you mattered, it didn't matter whether you purchased or not, he took care of you like you just purchased the whole entire store whether you did or not. Not too sure how all of you feel but when you're out and about looking for something and you just can't find that right piece that will fit your home it can be very depressing and then it gets even more worse when you get the pushy, or don't bother me salesmen, it becomes a total turn off, you leave and go on to the next place. Biff was beyond that, he generally cares, if he doesn't have it there on the floor, he is willing to help you find what you're looking for, if he doesn't have it, he will try to get it for you. Now he might not be able to please everyone, but I got to tell you with all that this whole world has been encountering in these past few years, Biff is a "Breath of Fresh Air", his smile will just give you that all over good feeling, and his willingness to help you is something we all have been missing. He is far beyond pushy by all means. My parents and I will not go anywhere ever again to purchase any kind of furniture other than right here at this store where Biff is. Now don't get me wrong everyone at this store has the same attitude as Biff, but the "gem" here at this store that makes this one store stand out more than all the others is "Biff" he is what makes American Freight, they should count their blessings they have such an "OUTSTANDING' employee not all employees take "PRIDE" in their jobs nowadays we all know that. The gem here in this store/company is "Biff", and we want the entire world to know this is the place to go if you want EXCELLENT CUSTOMERE SERVICE. Biff is the "Gem" here. Don't go...
Read moreIf I could leave no stars I would!!!! I bought a sectional less then a year ago and purchased there insurance that they insisted was a good idea! They told me when I purchased it that if anything happened to it and if the sectional was for some reason discontinued I would get the full amount in credit for a new couch. In less then a year my sectional had the frame fully exposed and a spring sticking out underneath. It was on other right piece of the sectional. We had someone to come out to approve our replacement, which they did. I called the store to see about my replacement and they said they were only approving the right side to be replaced but that sectional was no longer being sold there. So I was getting partial credit. I went there in person because that was absolutely ridiculous. The same guy that sold me the couch and insisted the insurance was still there. He said I never told you that your whole couch would be replaced. So we were LIED too. He was just trying to sell us. I said what am I going to do with half a couch? He said you could purchase a new one with the half credit. I said so you want me to come out of pocket more money because of your lie?! Absolutely not. Then another guy came around the counter and decided to jump in the conversation and placed the paperwork down in front of me pointing at the pricing explaining my coverage and as I was looking down he said LOOK AT ME SO YOU CAN HEAR ME and used his fingers to tell me to look in his eyes. I said I HEAR YOU. I mean I’m not deaf! I told the guy if I would’ve known that I wouldn’t have bought a 2 piece sectional I would’ve bought a couch with one piece! There customer service is horrible and honestly they need to be glad I didn’t cuss them out. I left respectfully and on my way out he sarcastically said have a good weekend. I’m not stupid and they tried to play me. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID! I will never shop...
Read moreI ordered back in August, and while 6 months later I'm still (mostly) satisfied with all the furniture purchased, the delivery ended up being so expensive it negated the reason I shopped here in the first place. I purchased a couch, dining set, and coffee table set, and was quoted $90 for a 3rd floor delivery. I made sure to specify this also includes assembly to which the salesman told me it included legs on the furniture. Okay, fine, I didn't order any shelving or bedding, tables and chairs literally only have legs, right?
The delivery men carry the flat packed table up the stairs and leave it in the dining room - in the box. They clarify that only couches get the little feet put on them and that installation is extra, double, in fact, for this box that is too heavy to move and needs some sort of industrial box cutter to even open. So I'm already out $90 and they're ready to leave for their next job unless I pay an additional $100 for assembly. So someone is lying - either the salesman when he defined what furniture legs are, or the delivery men are scamming me. Regardless it's too hot and we're too tired from moving all day to bother arguing so I pay it.
The quality of the furniture is what you'd expect for the price, but skip the liquid protection package. It either wasn't done or is also a scam. While the pieces came bagged supposedly drying from the coating, we've tested time and time again in various areas with water, and it absorbs like a sponge. Nothing beads up on top, it's unusually absorbent and was another additional fee.
So for the $300 more between these fees I may as well of went to Rooms-To-Go and bought it. Either way, being extorted during the delivery process is unacceptable and I would...
