This place used to be great; five stars great, in fact. Unfortunately, that rating has now been reduced to one lone star.
The trip to Marble Slab started out delightfully, as most trips to an ice cream parlor do. It felt as though everything was right in the world for that brief moment. Little did I know that tragedy and turmoil awaited me on my arrival.
It had been some time since my last trip to Marble Slab, as I no longer lived in the area. In years prior, I dutifully kept up with their loyalty program, and faithfully got my card stamped on each visit. Upon entering the store, the tumultuous experience started its course.
As it turns out, at some point between the time of my last patronage of this establishment and the time of my current visit, the loyalty program was converted away from the card and into a digital system linked to a phone number. Despite the obvious privacy concerns, I was willing to convert to the new system, and convert my stamped card into ones and zeroes attached to my personal information. However, I was told that my stamped card WOULD NOT BE HONORED!
Honestly, I was taken aback by such a preposterous stance that it took me a moment to catch my breath. It felt as though all my years of loyalty had been flushed down the toilet.
I am deeply saddened by the decision made by the Head Creamer to not reciprocate my unfettered loyalty to their establishment.
I will certainly never return to this business, and will do my best to encourage others to do the same. Marble Slab had a decision to make, and for the cost of some measly ice cream, they chose to lose a customer forever. I hope their shame...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI give this place zero stars and five thumbs down based on how my Mother and I were treated yesterday. I came in to redeem a birthday voucher and the young lady behind the counter acted as if she didn't want us to use it. She said she needed to call the Store Manager to make sure she would be able to use it. I don't know why she felt the need to do that because the voucher clearly had the company logo and info on it. The address of the store location and expiration date were clearly visible to the human eye. Anyway once she talked with the Store Manager she said we were able to use it. I asked the young lady how long she had been working there? She replied 2 years. I asked was this a new marketing tool that was just launched? She replied no, it's been going on for awhile now but sometimes people try to redeem the vouchers for different locations and that's not allowed. Hmm..okay is what I was thinking. So this young lady was not new to working there and the marketing tool that this company uses to promote business isn't new either. So why would we get treated such a way? I called the Store Manager and expressed my concern towards the customer service and he even told me he didn't understand why this young lady called him about the voucher when she knew that she could use it as long as the voucher had not expired. He even told me that the location of the store didn't have to be on the voucher in order for it to be used. Ladies and gentleman this was clearly discrimination at it's finest. So beware of going to this establishment if you would like to be treated as an equal and enjoy a pleasant customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbout a week ago, I ordered from here for the first time. I used Doordash. I bought the small "make it your own" with Double Dark Chocolate ice cream, Watermelon Sorbet, and M&M's. It was delicious. The next day, I decided since I liked it so much, I'd get the regular size "make it your own" with the same ingredients. It showed up to me the same size as before. I was thoroughly disappointed but decided maybe it was an accident so I didn't say anything and ate it anyways.
Today, after a very savory lunch, I decided Ice cream sounded great again. This time, I ordered the "best value make it your own". For some reason, you cannot customize the ice cream/ sorbet flavors in the app so I wrote in the "special preferences" section stating "For the ice cream flavors, I'd like two dark chocolate ice cream and two raspberry sorbet" This should have been DOUBLE the ice cream I ordered the first time (small = 2 scoops; regular = 3 scoops, best value = 4 scoops) so I was obviously very upset to find that the ice cream showed up again the small size. I do not like being ripped off. I you do not have the larger sizes available (whether in person or on DoorDash), please don't have them...
