Went in today around 130. Wasn’t really packed from the lunch crowd. I’m a paralyzed veteran who of course is wheelchair bound. First thing I noticed was when we showed up and the little hostess saw I was in a wheelchair she didn’t know what to do.
She kept running around looking for a place to sit us, which literally took almost 5 or so minutes. I went to the restroom and when I returned she had sat us on a completely empty unattended rows of the restaurant (Directly in front of the to go cash register). I didn’t have a issue with that because I’m assuming the so called wheelchair table was already taken.
I usually transfer from my wheelchair to the booth anyway. Which is what I did. OMG!!!!. The so called padded cushions booth was hard as a rock.
Even though I can’t feel anything from the waist down. We all heard the loud thump after I transferred. The hostess even looked up from the sound.
I literally had to us my wheelchair cushion to sit on in the booth. Which I just had FLAP surgery 6 months ago.
Our waitress (Natalie) finally showed up and you could tell that wasn’t her station at all. Had a little attitude. We ordered the Fried Jalapeño, which were greasy. We both ordered the Fish and Chips with Fries.
The orders came out and both of our orders were also dripping in grease . You could tell that they cooked everything to include the Jalapeños, Fish, and Fries in the same OLD grease. How do I know that? Because the 3-4 pieces on each plate weren’t golden brown, but literally dark brown to almost burnt..
I paid the bill of 41.33 and we left. As we were leaving I saw the hostess again and I asked who was the manager and she said I’ll go get them. I didn’t feel like dealing with the bs excuses we would have received. I just asked for the name. And she said the manager was Avery.
I normally go to the Millers on Wells Rd, but we definitely won’t be coming back to this one again.
I should have known by the nasty restroom was the first clue.
A word to the wise. You better make better accommodations for those individuals in wheelchairs. GO READ THE ADA POLICY. Because I can almost guarantee your probably towing the line of being...
Read moreI am completely embarrassed with treatment from a manager. I went to The Mandarin Ale House 3 days ago with my GF who lives in another state( my mother picked the location) She enjoyed the food so much she wanted to get it before she went back home. I have recently had surgery and did not feel like going out again. We placed the order online. I live 15 minutes away. She left after the order was placed and received a confirmation. When she arrived the order was not received, as well as the other patron that arrived at the same time. Both of which had email confirmations. The order included 2 orders of zingers and a brownie Sunday. The manager came out and spoke with the other patron and started to prepare his order no issues, although the other patron had waited so long he wanted to cancel. They ended up preparing his meal for him. The manager then tried to tell my GF she hadn’t paid several times. She had. She showed him the same information the other patron had shown. He was being rude and saying there was no proof she paid and requested to see her phone. After she showed where her card was charged they finally started to make the food. She at that point had been there for at least 15 minutes. They made the brownie with ice cream before the zingers. She had to ask the bartender if that was her order and if they would not leave out the ice cream. The bartender agreed, the bartender was nice and helped smoothed things over but upon returning home the order was not properly completed and alas the ice cream melted seeing how it was placed in with hot food. As much as I would hope this rude behavior wasn’t due to discrimination this is not the first time myself or guest have received rude and unacceptable behavior. I stopped going to Ale House for years because of their treatment toward the LGBT community. This just proves once again this establishment is not an open accepting environment. As much as I love the zingers, I prefer being treated like a regular human being as opposed to a sub par human. The manager doesn’t deserve a job in...
Read moreSo I was not going to review, but I am now.. First time here was durning the Florida vs Florida state softball championship games. We had a group of about 7 people, all of us drinking and eating watching the game. Somebody went into where the tv boxes are and started messing with the games. I understand it being off for a couple of minutes. But no it was off for about 15 mins. We came to your restaurant to watch this game with friends, so we started asking questions and after a couple of minutes started getting pissed. After it got fixed with on of our friends knocking on the door after asking a couple of times. The manager comes to our table and said we were being loud, we told her why. She goes you could have gone somewhere else. We said okay well next time we will take our business to the Orange Park Miller Ale House, she said just let me know because I will call the manager over there and let him know you are coming. HOW RUDE. Now I gave this place a second chance. I am one of the fan club members and it was my birthday month, So i wanted to get on of my favorite desserts. The coupon in my email never says you have to eat in the restaurant, so I did to go order. The girl on the phone first says she has to check with a manager, comes back to say what does the coupon read, told her it has nothing about dining in. She said okay come in then and get it. I arrive get sent back to the bar to get it. Stood there waiting for somebody to speak with me for about 5 mins, then finally I stopped someone, they said okay talk to the bartender. Bartender tells the prep guy at the counter for food I am here to get my "TO-GO" dessert, he goes she can't do that, while I am standing right here. Then he turns to another male co-worker and says this girl has lost her mind and some other inapproriate things about me while I am standing there. You guys need to get your employees together. Atleast be respectful. I love the food here, but your STAFF...
