I am a customer that has spent lots of holidays and other special occasions here since my husband's favorite is the Rheas Snapper. My mom is a huge fan of the Fontina Pork Chops too so we will bring her for her birthday. My experience does not have to do with the great food however. While picking up an order I walked in and noticed the hostess stand was vacant. Since the take out bags are located on the line I walked towards the kitchen where three servers were standing having a conversation. When one of them made eye contact I mentioned that I was there to pick up a to go order. The girl I spoke to rudely pointed to the EMPTY hostess stand and told me I was supposed to ask the hostess about to go orders while the girls continued their conversation. Since the order was there in front of me and I was told to walk away from the order to an empty podium to ask again for an order that could have very well been handed to me quite easily by one of the three people standing near the line I was somewhat perplexed and I guess it showed on my face because no sooner had I turned around to make the trek back to the hostess stand the bartender said very loudly,"oooh she just rolled her eyes at you!" As the girl arrived at the podium I asked for the second time if the order was ready. She said it was and I followed her back over so I could help with the bags as there were a few. I explained to the bartender that my reasoning for appearing unhappy was due to being told to stand and wait for someone to come around and get the order instead of the able bodied staff simply handing it to me since they were right where the order was. While I was speaking to the bartender I was cut off by the first girl who said that all to go orders were handled by the hostess. As soon as she stopped talking the bartender rudely told me I should go back to the front and wait while the hostess gathered the order. Having two different staff members speaking to me in such a stiff, dismissive manner while also making rude statements within earshot was not something I ever thought id experience at a place to pick up food. The way these two women treated me gave me the creeps and made me feel like I was in highschool dealing with the bully. I haven't had any sort of confrontational encounter with anyone in years and this felt incredibly unnecessary. When she told me to go to the front and wait again I said I was just trying to keep the hostess from having to make multiple trips. At that point the bartender, not the servers standing there, moved to assist the hostess with getting the order together. Since I had been picking up for someone else I wanted to make sure the person had everything they asked for since she had made some very specific requests. As the last bag was handed to me I simply said thank you while both girls told me to "have a good night" in a very unconvincing tone that suggested their annoyance and yet I couldn't help but feel incredibly self conscious for the second time since arriving because as I said, the way these servers were acting it sincerely felt like an attack on both of their parts. From the time that bartender yelled to the other server that id rolled my eyes it honestly felt very hostile. I'm not sure what the issue was exactly but it was clear that the servers were not happy to help another person if it didn't directly affect them in some way. Since teamwork is one of the best ways a restaurant may achieve each task I was very surprised to see that my hopes of the server simply handing my items to me were in vain. One of the worst experiences I've ever had in any sort of service industry setting and I love my mom and the hubby but we won't...
Read moreI made a birthday reservation here at 5:30. My wife and I were ran a little late but we were able to still be accommodated with a table. After being seated we were greeted by Jodi our server. She took our drink order but could only get one Dirty Martini for myself. My wife forgot her ID. When drinks arrived we placed our orders which was a kids chicken tender and fries in addition to two of the anglers catch. When my daughter's food came out it was chicken nuggets. Not chicken tenders. The young man that dropped off the plate said that they were out of chicken tenders and only nuggets were available. Our server never told us this. Which is very important because my daughter is on the autism spectrum and is very much a picky eater. After receiving our plates we noticed that we didnt get our cole slaw and the entire bottom of the paper that the food was sitting on was completely soaked with oil/grease in my wifes plate. When this was brought to Jodi's attention she just looked at the plate, took it and walked away without saying anything. During this time we all sat and waited with empty drinks. I was never asked if i wanted another martini or made aware that happy hour was ending. Moments later she returned with a new plate and said " hope that's better" and left. The food came back fine. Still no cole slaw was provided. By this time we had noticed that she seemed to be more interested in her other surrounding tables. One of the tables next to us received great service by her and even got food suggestions and refills on drinks a few times as we sat with empty cups. We requested the check after just being fed up with the way things went south. After getting the bill we noticed that it was extremely high for the amount of food we got. She forgot to take off the anglers catch that she re-rang in which was fine, that was corrected but then there was an additional martini on the bill that was never ordered let alone never received!! When this was brought to her attention, she acted as if we ordered it and it was canceled, but i quickly reminded her that when we tried to place the order for 2 martinis, she would not serve us the other one without my wifes ID. She finially got the bill right after my card had been charged 2xs and dropped it back off to our table. Jodi's service was extremely inattentive and mediocre. There was no accountability for the mistakes made and she didn't even acknowledge my special day. As dine rewards members, this is normally our go to spot for Dirty Martinis and bar bites, but after this experience with subpar service I'm not sure that we will be returning back to...
Read moreThis is an updated review today's date is April 27th 2024, our server is Melissa she has been our preferred server for the past couple of years. She is amazing always remembers our order and what we like to drink it's like walking in to your family's home you feel that welcome. She goes above and beyond to take care of you and is very professional and attentive as a server. I believe she sets the bar on how servers should be today. My husband and I don't get much positive experience from our servers at most restaurants so that's what makes this experience so special. If you come here on a Saturday or Sunday ask for Melissa you won't be disappointed. And if this is the management at Bonefish please acknowledge Melissa for doing such an amazing job and make sure to take good care of her as we wouldn't want to see her go from one of our favorite places to eat.
This is an updated review from my last one. My husband and I come here now about once a month and love the food but not so much our servers. Today, that changed to loving them both as well as the manager. Our experience was amazing. We had to wait at our table for a while, but the manager came over, and she was just amazing. She apologized and got our drinks and bread for us she also gave us an appetizer for the inconvenience. Then, a server who was not even over our section took our order her name was Melissa and when I say she was amazing, that is an understatement. She was polite, professional, and did her job better than we have ever seen here. I know I use amazing a lot in this review but every step of the way it was amazing even though we had to wait for longer than normal where we were seated the way they took care of us as customers and the experience we had from that moment on was just amazing. We highly recommend coming to this Bonefish because I like to know how places handle something when it doesn't just go perfect and I have to say they handled it amazing you will not be disappointed you chose this...
