I love Marshall's but I had a bad experience the other day. I purchased a bottle of Argan oil shampoo. It smells so good. I stood in line for 10 minutes. No biggie. Get it home, the pump doesn't work, so I couldn't use it. So disappointed. I live near the Avenues, so San Jose is not a close trip. I get there, and here again, long line. I thought, Ill ask if I can go directly to the refunds register. No dedicated returns register. The cashier said the line is back there. I said, yiu are going to make me stand in that long line to return this one item, he said yes. I said, no! I need a manager. I explained her product was defective, I stood in line once. Why should I be penalized twice for their product. Standing in line isn't a penalty sir. Yes it is. Look how long that line is. You are penalizing me for buying your defective product by making me stand in line twice. No im not sir. Why can't you refund this 1 item quickly? Because you have to stand in line. Why should I have to stand in line twice? That is not good service at all. That makes me want to never shop their again, if she seriously thinks that is ok to treat your customers like that. I was only asking for a 1x quick refund. I've already been penalized by spending my fas and time bringing this stupid bottle of shampoo back, now you want me to stand in line again forc 20 minutes to return it. No ma'am I told her, you dont know good customer service if you think thats ok to do to a customer. Im not saying people never should stand in line to return items. That's not what I'm saying. I had 1 item, the line was ridiculous. She could have taken my 1 item quickly, and refunded me without making me stand in line a second time cause their product was defective. Why punish me twice? She didn't agree at all. That scares me that she didn't recognize going above and beyond for your customers, especially since I was the one who was inconvenienced having to bring it back. She took me at the register and I didn't have to stand in line a second time. Thats service. Can they do that all the time, no. Do they always have defective products that I need to bring back no.. Train your managers and staff about what it means to go above and beyond exceeding expectations. Its not always black and white or in a rule book. Allowing me to skip that line and refunding me quickly was the right thing to do. Why should I be penalized twice because of their defective product? If the line had only been a couple people, then I would have...
Read moreEmotionally unstable staff. I was shopping here a few weeks ago one evening. After checking out, I walk towards the door to organize my bags before leaving. I have my toddler with me who was fascinated by the motion detecting doors. She walked near it to experiment 2-3 times and as I'm calling her to me I hear a very rude and loud mouthed woman say more than once "That's getting on my last nerve!" In the direction of me and my daughter. The other employee standing next to her looked uncomfortable as I'm looking over to them.
Get it together. The door opened a couple of times, I'm managing the situation, and she's just a baby. You are so emotionally unstable that you have to have an outburst over something so silly? A baby?! Despicable behavior. If a door opening and closing causes a nasty reaction like that, you have...
Read moreThey have great prices. The store is crowded and messy. There are a lot of homeless ppl in this parking lot, so outside this store is often gross. The sidewalk often has trash all over, so does the parking lot. The trashcan outside the store is often overflowing with nasty stuff spilled down the side. Sometimes there is a homeless man sleeping or sitting on the bench, once he was inside sitting on a bench my the doors. The last few times I was in this parking lot there were homeless ppl begging at the entrance. (The parking lot entrance, NOT the store) If you can overlook all that, inside is not too bad. There is another Marshalls in Orange Park on my way to work so I usually shop at that one to avoid the nasty parking lot and sidewalk...
