This restaurant absolutely ruined our Valentine’s Day. We have dined at and ordered from Rosalia’s weekly for 2 years and to say we are greatly disgusted is an understatement. My family showed up to our 7pm reservation and were told it was not until 8. We made the reservation 2 months in advance and spoke to Rosalia about the reservation a couple weeks prior. The owner who knows exactly who we are had us standing in the lobby for an hour and didn’t even have the decency to acknowledge us or apologize. Instead a waitress with curly hair in a pony tail asked my 87 YEAR OLD FATHER WITH ALZHEIMER’S to get up from an unoccupied booth that was then vacant and stayed vacant for an additional 45 minutes. Then the host asked me, my 2 year old and 5 month old to leave the lobby to stand in the cold when there is seating by the bathroom they could have offered to us. After waiting an hour we were finally seated at tables that were unoccupied for the hour we waited there. After being seated for another hour a member from my party had to go to the Mexican restaurant next door to get our kids chips because they were starving. We finally at 9:20pm received our food and shortly after Rosalia came over and asked how everything was. When we shared our frustrations she accused my mom who made the reservation of being a liar, immediately became defensive and used COVID as an excuse then walked away. After reading reviews on the restaurant tonight I can see I am not the only customers who have experienced being treated like this. Just read their responses to others reviews to get and idea on how they do business. Completely unprofessional. We are business owners ourselves and completely understand that running a business during a busy holiday is not easy and have compassion for that. It was not the wait or subpar food that was served that prompted this review but the way we were treated.

DoorDash does a pretty good job of pairing orders And in this case door dash does not allow me to go deliver one order first and come back for the second which is why I was making you aware of the situation after you’re rude remark. Which then I proceeded to speak with support. BTW I do know who I work for I work for ME I provide a service to DoorDash that then DoorDash provides to YOU I’m a INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR Not a EMPLOYEE I have a 4.92 rating on DoorDash I have delivered 1200+ times successfully Actions like mine!? 1. Spoke with the owner of the restaurant over the situation 2. Speak with support about the situation 3. Post my experience on Google review At what point was I disrespectful!? Ps. you have a attitude on a holiday that’s what it has to do with it. *Disclaimer* this part has been added after the owner responded. 1. Google review is for everyone. 2. YOU should take care of YOUR Business (again I’m a independent contractor) 3. YOU should be nice every day because you’re the one with the attitude problem just like all the other negative reviews saying that you’re rude. I have no business going to your establishment at no point have you tried to Deescalate the situation and now you’re being offensive calling me a coward. No take your review. learn to be nice. Maybe if you ask nicely I’ll think about it.

What a pleasure. We believe we have found one of the best Italian Restaurants in the Southside of Jacksonville. First the location is great with plenty of parking. We arrived at 5:30pm and were seated right away. Our server Angela was attentive all evening taking our orders and checking if all was Ok several times, even though they were busy, including offering us additional Blue Cheese Dressing when we asked for our extra wedge salad to go. We ordered a of a cup of Corn Chowder 5 🌟 and the Salad Wedge which again was so huge that we took half of it home and an outstanding 5 🌟. The Entree menu offers a good but not overwhelming selection which means they can be attentive to the quality of food that leaves the kitchen. Bill ordered the Eggplant with a pasta side. I decided on the Stuffed Shrimp Special both were excellent 5 🌟 and so large that we had take home box's. Had a chance to speak with the owner who thanked all those who leave comments on this site as she said " my customers are my eyes and ears as I cannot see all that is going on behind me." A native of Rome Italy she has brought the flavors and quality here and we will surely visit again and again becoming a regular for the future.

WOW! Seeing the response from the restaurant on these reviews is frightening! How immature and unprofessional! Calling customers cowards and saying they have no taste is insane! Reminds me of that episode of Kitchen Nightmares with the crazy couple who owned their Italian restaurant! I wish I read the reviews before I went so I would have never gave this restaurant my business. I went today for dinner(first time) and no one was in the restaurant except maybe 3 tables. Me and my husband waited 15 mins for someone to get our drink order then another 10 mins to wait for a draft beer. While we waited for our food we saw the other 2 tables get a basket of bread while they waited. We did not. I did not mention anything because I assumed that maybe they ordered appetizers but as we got up to leave I asked the bar tender if we were suppose to get bread and he said yes. Besides that, I could hear a lady I’m guessing the owner or manager yelling her personal business while at the bar. I got second hand embarrassment. She shouted at workers and was extremely rude. We could not enjoy our meal because we kept hearing her shouting. Which makes sense from seeing the reviews, UNPROFESSIONAL & EMBARRASSING! Just someone who can’t take criticism well and gets offended because they think they’re food is the best out there. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS and see how they speak to their customers! The people keeping them in business! I feel bad for your workers I can’t imagine what it’s like to deal with the owners. & no I won’t visit the restaurant to discuss this because I could care less to waste my time there, I do care to warn others of this which I will continue to do! I can’t wait to see their response to this review, just watch their response and you’ll see exactly what I mean! Our experience may have been terrible but the waiter was extremely nice and friendly and he deserved the tip we left, the restaurant does not! Hopefully he moves onto a better company that deserve him. Have a...

My wife and I came here for dinner tonight to try somewhere new. Nice and close, easy to get to. Most of our evening was fine as the majority of the staff was friendly and polite. It was a busier evening on a Friday night so my wife and I were prepared to wait but we were sat immediately so thought it was off to a good start. The food was okay. Not authentic or anything per say but decent. Maybe a tad over priced for the quality but nothing insane at all. Our waitress however, didn’t get a name now that I think about it as I’m writing this, was odd to say the least. She let us know initially that it would be a moment and again, we were prepared to wait some between it being a Friday evening and most places are under staffed currently as well. We told her this was absolutely fine and to take her time. Maybe this was taken a little too well, not sure honestly. Our waitress compared to the rest of the staff seemed significantly more flustered and almost tweeking in a sense throughout the night. After waiting nearly 45 minutes after finishing our food and being approached by another staff member who was very kind and got us the to go boxes and took our plates, we had to pull another staff member aside and politely asked if she could find our waitress for us in order to request our check as we had been at dinner now a total of nearly 2 1/2 hours. When she did finally come back with our check, we weren’t greeted in the slightest but told “Yes, I know you’ve been waiting” and then given the wrong check, she then flustered for a moment and gave us the correct one. The best (and quickest I might add) service we had all night from her was her taking the check and card and returning it to us. I really don’t intend to dog on her or paint the restaurant in a negative light at all but this probably the least enjoyable experience we’ve had at a restaurant since we moved to the state of FL. Hopefully others have a better experience but my wife and I definitely...

Update: party was 3 adults, no minors. First visit to the restaurant. Service….No tables were available so we chose the bar. Big mistake! There were many regulars at the bar who were greeted and treated much better than we were. The server/bartender was rude and irritable. We got our drinks and waited …..to order. We did not have cash to leave on the bar for our drinks, or we would’ve left. When finally asked if we wanted an appetizer, we said yes and our server immediately turned and walked away. My husband yelled to her that we’re ready to place our order too and she said she’ll be right back but again ….we waited. The wait for the food was not bad, once allowed to order. Our chairs were a hot commodity. My son had two women breathing down his neck as he finished his meal. Comments by them were made about how soon we’d be done. My husband actually stepped on a woman’s foot pushing for his stool when we were trying to leave. A little warning about the pushy regulars would have been nice. It was obvious, new customers returning for another visit was not of importance. :/ Food…Food was average. Rolls were very dense, possibly stale. Portion sizes for the entrees were very small for the price. We had the Carbonara, Penne with shrimp, and a Stromboli. Prosciutto was either ground or chopped into tiny bits, which was a bit odd, possibly served this way to lessen the portion size. The penne entree had only 4 shrimp for over $8. I would not recommend adding to the penne, not worth the up charge. The approx 18” Stromboli was served with less than 2oz of sauce. We asked for sauce “to go” for the remaining Stromboli and were charged $2. If we were told about the charge for the sauce, we wouldn’t have asked for it. The carbonara and vodka sauce were just okay, nothing special. Stromboli was good. If not for the irritated and rude server/bartender and the pushy patrons, we may have given the food (maybe pizza, no entree)...
