Stoner's Pizza Joint Jacksonville Southside — Restaurant in Jacksonville

This place must truly embody the name "Stoners" because their product quality reflects that my food must have been prepared by pot-heads. Ive always wanted to try this place out but after my experience I'll never order from there again. Over the weekend I ordered a Buffalo chicken pizza and breadsticks for delivery. The delivery took almost 2 hours which was a minor inconvenience that I didn't mind overlooking for this "amazing pizza" I keep hearing about. What did it for me is when I opened the box expecting a delicious Buffalo chicken pizza I was met with a very sad looking slab of overcooked dough with a few melted blobs of what looked like was supposed to resemble cheese and 8 small, dry, unseasoned bits of chicken. Well, at least the pizza wasn't greasy. Matter of fact, anything that resembled any type of moisture was absent. No sauce, no grease, not one bit of moisture in the chicken. I tried the breadsticks and I couldn't tell if I accidently mistook part of the box for one because they had a similar consistency. I surrendered it to my dog who I believe thought it was a new KONG toy and proceeded to get me to play tug of war with him. I spared him a trip to the doggy dentist and threw out the breadsticks and after I tried stomaching a few bites of the "pizza" , it followed its brethren into the trash bin. Come to think of it, after trash day, I spotted a dead racoon on the side of the road in front of my house . Poor thing probably thought he hit the jackpot! Too bad the pizza was...

It’s tasty but they’re so weird about giving marinara sauce and don’t have the best service. You’ll get a full thing of breadsticks (like 8 breadsticks) and a teenie amount of marina. OR they won’t give you any even if you specifically ask for it. We went in today and asked for extra marina and they said “for sure” and then didn’t give any (like even just the normal amount. No marinara at all). Another time, they were incredibly rude when we asked for it after they hadn’t given us any. It’s like a tablespoon of marinara and I’m pretty sure it’s meant to come with the breadsticks I don’t know why they’re so weird about it. And the marinara is tasty! The breadsticks are just kinda mid without the marina! I want my marina. That’s all. I’ll even pay a bit extra for marina. But I’m not getting any sauce. So the breadsticks are just kind of a waste because they’re just lesser, dryer versions of pizza crust. Marina maketh the breadstick.

Side note: they got pissed one day when I asked for my sweet tea they forgot to give me (I paid for it and asked nicely, wasn’t a weenie, accidents happen no biggie). But they’re incredibly rude when THEY make mistakes which...

I was pretty disappointed in my visit! I placed my order online, and when I arrived, I wasn’t even sure it was open. I couldn’t see any visible lights on inside and the electronic “Open” sign was turned off. Either way, I had gotten there a little early so I waited in my car until some time had passed for my food to be ready. Seemingly, the only employee that was present came outside to tell me their ovens were out of propane or something of the sort and that it would take longer for my food to be ready. I truly did appreciate the gesture, even though my food took forever… But the guy took a smoke break before he went inside. I don’t care if he washed his hands or not, I do not want to be made aware that someone smoked during the preparation of my food! I eventually got my food, and it was dripping in grease. Despite the container being closed, grease still leaked through and made a mess in my car within minutes! I also ordered some cookies which are advertised as “half baked”… But I would like to be able to eat my cookies by hand, which I was unable to do. It was literally just warm...
