About three weeks ago I reviewed this place and I still feel the same way about the food and the handcrafted beers. The environment I still like a lot. It's been a consistently wonderful place to hang out and watch the games or a radio show taking place right there in the restaurant. There's a lot to be said for this place and for the most part the atmosphere is comfortable. The only thing I would say I'd like to change is the alledged homophobia. The crowd is an eclectic mix of people from all walks of life and that's certainly something to celebrate. However a few of the employees could use a lesson in sensitivity. It takes a great deal of integrity and decorum to tolerate things you can't understand but that doesn't mean it's appropriate to speak of it or use derogatory statements to intimidate another group of people. We all look alike and all a part of the human race. In sports you learn to be gracious with your comments and stay neutral with your beliefs. To be a good sport is to remain true to the game. Whether you win or lose it's playing the game, the passion for the game and the honor that comes with it. Now said, this place is a gem in the heart of the Springfield Historic District. It's been named the #1 "Jaguars" sports bar, simply the best place to watch the Jaguars games. You'll find at times some of the pro-ball players hanging out there too. They handcraft draft beer like the true professionals they are. The highly knowledgeable bartenders know their beer, I'll tell you. Just tell them a couple of highlights you look for and the perfect draft is sitting in front of you. Very attentive and efficiently the staff serves up some of the most delicious plates I've ever tasted. The burgers are incredible. The chicken sandwiches, order two take one home. Macaroni with beer cheese! Exceptional! The brisket is "to die for". They smoke their meats for hours. Four to five I believe and then fry up those wings, ribs, whatever with dry ribs and bbq spices that amaze the palette. I haven't had a mediocre meal from there yet. You get a sense of community in the atmosphere of this place. Spacious and not confining at all it has indoor and patio seating that's comfortable and inviting. You get a lot of nods and how are yas when you walk through and 10 to 1 anyone there would be glad to converse with a newbie or an infrequent visitor just as much they would a regular. The locals here in this neighborhood are hard to beat. They take pride in being a part of the rejuvenation of Springfield and it's glorious homes and businesses. Strings Sports Brewery is a classic. It's the home of the Jaguars and every sports fan in the area. Don't be surprised to find it shoulder to shoulder during the popular nights. It only makes the experience more enjoyable. Salute, Strings! Thank you for being a part of...

Not a sports person so I was a little iffy coming here but glad I did. Service was top tier - enthusiastic, knowledgeable, attentive and expedient.
I overheard service speaking with a customer and apparently if there's a game on it gets pretty packed, but it wasn't wheb I was there.
I tried their southpaw sour and a cider. Both of these are amazing. The cider is a pink and is such a beautiful profile - with floral and fruity notes, I'd be interested to know what apples the brewers used for it. The sour is fruity and earthy - reminds me of Phoenix brewing in Ohio, a sour they made call wardens pie. Very good I recommend both.
For food I got the special - rainbow trout tacos, pretzel and onion rings (1/2 order).
Onion rings are thick sliced and peppery. Love them.
Pretzel was alright - I wouldn't call home over it but I also wouldn't kick it out of bed. I think I would like it bettet with mustard. It's a pillowy soft pretzel loaded with salt , comes with a housemade beer cheese thats alright.
Tacos were very good. Only things I would gripe on is they carried a lot of fluid in them so they were mad drippy, and also offering corn tortillas if customer would prefer. Other than that, the trout was so good, and there's really only minutia to nitpick. I recommend these.
They do crowlers - the crowlers for the southpaw are 25.4 oz not 32.
All in all, it's welcoming, spacious, and has some high quality brews with great...

This past month I had the pleasure of enjoying 3 free beers from Strings Brewery in Springfield as they have a thing where you can buy a friend a beer even if they're not there. Your friend then has 30 days to claim their beer. A friend of mine was kind enough to buy me 3, so I spread them out throughout the month to take myself out for lunch this past month. The first time I went with their house Pretzel with Beer Cheese and it was one of the best pretzels in town I've had and the cheese is so good! On the second visit I got the grilled chicken sandwich. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned well with a teriyaki sauce. I paired it with their Cajun fries. I only with I had added a cup of their beer cheese on to dip my fries in. So good! Then on my 3rd trip I got their burger. Again, cooked perfectly to my liking (medium rare). They forgot to put their "Strings Sauce" on it, but that's OK because I didn't even notice until the young lady came over with a cup of it for me. The burger was great!
Strings is a big place and they have a full menu of plates, shareables, and handhelds. I enjoyed each beer I drank from them as well. It's not too busy in the midday during lunch hours so for me that was enjoyable to relax and treat myself in the middle...
