⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.5 Star Review for Springfield Scoops – A Charming & Kid-Friendly Ice Cream Spot!
Springfield Scoops on Main Street in downtown Jacksonville is a sweet little gem with a warm, welcoming vibe. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, patient, and full of smiles—making the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable.
What We Loved:
🍦 Bold & Delicious Flavors – The ice cream selection was impressive, offering everything from unique, adventurous flavors to classic staples like vanilla bean (which was rich, creamy, and packed with real flavor). The texture was perfect—smooth and indulgent without being overly sweet.
📸 Instagram-Worthy Decor – The shop had cute decals and backdrops perfect for photo ops, adding a fun touch to our visit.
🧒 Super Kid-Friendly! – This might be one of the most family-friendly ice cream shops I’ve been to! They had books, a dedicated kids’ table, and even activities to keep little ones entertained while (or after) enjoying their treats. Big plus for parents!
🪑 Plenty of Seating – Unlike some small ice cream spots, Springfield Scoops had ample seating—indoors and possibly outdoors (if applicable), making it a great place to relax.
📍 Prime Downtown Location – Conveniently nestled among other fantastic small businesses, including a metaphysical shop, fitness center, homemade food store, bakery, and boutique. Perfect for making a full day out in the area!
🛍️ Black-Owned & Chic – As a POC-owned business, the shop had an extra layer of warmth and relatability for us. The aesthetic was modern, clean, and stylish—definitely a place you’d want to revisit.
🚻 Clean & Accessible Restroom – Always a major plus when exploring downtown!
Why Not 5 Stars?
While we had a great experience, a slightly wider variety of dairy-free or vegan options (if not already available) would make it even more inclusive. Also, though the flavors were bold, one or two of the more unique ones could use a tiny bit more balance.
Final Thoughts:
Springfield Scoops is a must-visit for families, couples, or anyone looking for quality ice cream in a vibrant, supportive small-business hub. The service, atmosphere, and location make it a standout spot, and we’ll definitely be back!
Highly recommend for a sweet treat in the heart of...
Read moreSpringfield Scoops was where we headed to after a day of craft beer pub hopping in Jacksonville this day. Although we had planned for another brewery after Hyperion Brewing Company, we decided to call it a day and grab some food. Originally, we had found some photos of pizzas at Springfield Scoops and we thought that it could be an ice cream parlour that sells pizza as well. However, we were quite wrong. Springfield Scoops only sells ice cream 😅 Nonetheless, we were still game for ice cream and we tried out some of their offerings…

Read moreThe older woman who works there has the nastiest attitude I've ever seen!
I brought my 3 little cousins in there for the first time in August the day after their father died to try to take their mind off things while other family members made arrangements. The 9 year old was squirming in his chair waiting for icecream and the older woman shouted at him very harshly. Okay sure, the 9 year old should be sitting perfectly still and quiet, I guess. I let it go. But then another young family came in with a baby and a toddler - the toddler was very rambunctious. I'm not even sure if they ended up getting icecream or not, but as they left I saw the older woman roll her eyes as if she was so annoyed!! At that point I thought, if you hate kids so much, why are you working in an icecream shop??
I see the owner likes to be confrontational and take 0 accountability in the reviews instead of being receptive at all - which is hilarious and only confirms the lack of professionalism. ESPECIALLY when it comes to this specific employee. Don't believe me? Click on the lowest rating and see what everyone else says about this woman. But I'm sure they're all wrong 😂
The young woman who rang us up was very pleasant and seemed to be trying to overcompensate for her blatantly...
