I was feeling sushi today so I came to check out this place since the traffic was bad going further away. Quaint place. Small corner restaurant. Parking in the back since all the side street parking was full. I was able to leave my umbrella in a bucket in the front. We were sat quickly. My daughter used the restroom. It was clean. They already had the drinks and clear soup on the table when we came back. No charge either, I was so thankful. When it came time to order, I had already looked at the menu before hand, so I knew what I wanted to eat. I ordered my usual salmon and yellowtail sashimi. I tried the triple roll since I was too nervous to try the Ichiban roll since I have never had red snapper or white tuna. My friend ordered the chicken and steak hibachi. My daughter had a side of fried rice and shared some of the hibachi with my friend. I ate most of their salad and gave the rest to my daughter. I loved the decor. They had a Japanese food show on tv that was interesting to watch even though it was in Japanese. I loved the quickness of the staff to clean off the table and refill my water as soon as it was close to empty. I would definitely come back. They have a HUGE menu. I love that since I can't have tempura or avocado anymore. I will definitely come back again in the future to try more.

As someone who rally goes to Japanese places anymore because of the lack of creative vegiterian options, we were blown away at how many options they had. There was an entire menu just for vegiterian options which was probably around 30-40 choices. We got the pickle pickle, JVL, Avacado crunch, and spicy girl. Our favorites were definitly the Avacado crunch and pickle pickle for their good texture and flavors. The other two weren’t as exciting. The JVL was a bunch of fried stuff which I was expecting to have more of a crunch but it was more chewy and the spicy girl was a bit one note as well. The hot sake was good but wasn’t very warm. We got some for all of us and they ranged from Luke warm to slightly warmer. It was still decent sake so it didn’t take away too much from it. The service was great and the atmosphere was pretty decent as well. Overall a good place with an incredible amount of vegiterian options.

I would like to preface this review by saying we ordered from Doordash, so I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I believe it COULD have been better if we ate in the physical restaurant.

1st of all, we were missing an appetizer order of calamari. 2nd, we ordered 4 rolls of sushi and received only TWO 2 oz cups of shrimp sauce- if we had at least gotten one shrimp sauce per roll, that would have been okay. 3rd, and by far the worst, my husband ordered the nearly $20 "chicken teriyaki" plate with double rice, no vegetables. He received a thin, half-heartedly scored, piece of chicken breast that had maaaaybe 10% teriyaki flavor. It literally tasted like it touched the sauce and decided "naaaah." Also, his "double rice" was steamed rice- we've never seen hibachi/teriyaki served with just STEAMED rice (the options listed on Doordash were noodles or rice- so we AsSuMeD it would be fried rice). The sushi we did receive was decent at best.

Very sad with how much money we spent and how sorely disappointed we were considering all the good reviews. Is it just because of how good the vegan options are? Idk.

Overall, I will 100% stick with Tokyo Sushi (on Normandy) and I will say the only reason we even tried somewhere else was because it was on a Monday and our...
