Avondale Gift Boutique — Local services in Jacksonville

Super disappointed in my experience here. I recently made a purchase at this boutique as they are the only MC authorized retailer that I know of in the area. I drive around an hour to get here and make a purchase. The cashier followed me around the store the entire time, so much so that the man checking out had to come get her to let her know he wanted to purchase something. I checked out and then remembered that I was looking for something else and asked where I may find it. The cashier dreadfully walked me to where I could find the item. In the meantime, my 10 month old son knocked something off the shelf. Of course this is not ideal, but he is a child and a baby at that, he does not understand what he is doing nor does he have a bad intentions trying to break something. The cashier practically screams “MY GOD” in the most hateful tone that I have ever heard. Especially to a child. I was honestly shocked. Needless to say, I will never make another purchase there and I won’t recommend another soul purchase from this boutique. While I understand the frustration, children are part of our society and not taking them places is not an option. Additionally, we were all children at one time. I really hope the cashier does not have children, and if so, I really hope you reflect on the situation as you raised your voice to my infant child. All people make mistakes, no matter their age....

I happened across Avondale Gift Boutique as I was searching online for a particular item I haven't otherwise been able to find. Being skeptical as I've come across many fake sites, I did more digging and decided this one was legitimate. I placed my order and followed up the next day with a call. The woman who answered was extremely accommodating and confirmed everything for me. She set up shipment for that morning to go out. My first job in high school was for a family-owned gift and apparel shop in my hometown as a gift wrapper. My experience there set the bar for customer service throughout my life. Today I went into this little gift shop just to browse. I found these beautiful "Be Still" notecards with an angel on the front. When I was checking out, I was a little emotional because these cards are to send notes to my twin sister who has ALS. I live in another state and come to see her as much as possible, but these cards are perfect to write to her when I'm not here. This dear sales clerk had so much empathy for me.
