Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Janesville

Horrible experience. The table was extremely sticky. The waitress set the paper menus down and the bottom menu stuck to the table. Of course this left a portion of the menu stuck to the table. My date stated to the waitress that the table was dirty and the waitress explained that the last people who had sat at the table moved to a different table because of our same complaint. However there were no clean tables available so the waitress suggested that we only change chairs at the same table. In hindsight, I wish we would have left. Although the food was good, we were rushed into eating it. After serving the food the waitress returned within 3 bites and asked if we wanted take out boxes for our meals. After eating the food the check was presented. Upon reviewing the check it was noted that our simple bar drinks were priced as specialty drinks, 5.09 for a shot of vodka and cranberry juice. When asked why the drinks were charged as "specialty" the waitress began to ramble about "mixers" and so on. At this point, I had heard enough and paid the 40 dollars check and refuse to ever, ever return to Applebee's. In my opinion, it seems as the waitress wanted an upsell of the service. I'd encourage all to avoid the expensive experience...

Service was average, with our waitress only checking on us a few times so drinks were low/empty a bunch. She did look into the buns ingredients list as we had a dairy restriction so that was nice of her. We got the $8.99 burger special which was nice, the burgers were decent. Nothing to write home about. The fries were seasoned really well. The 2 for $25 menu is very deceiving as everything I read online showed multiple options, including a burger but upon sitting down, they only had 3 options to choose from with no substitutions and limited appetizer selection. I got a strawberry lemonade for $3.29 which was a basic lemonade with strawberry artificial flavoring, but discovered that to get a refill they charged $.50 for the flavoring. Not a huge deal but I haven't had that anywhere else when paying that much for a drink. As for atmosphere, it's nice. Needs some updates, like the tv right by us had many lines of burnt out pixels so wasn't much to look at. Our table was sticky, but that appeared to be whatever they were using to clean the table was causing it as it appeared clean but my hands would stick to the table. Overall, it was ok. We likely won't return anytime soon though as there are many options...

On mothers day my family of 5 with a car seat decided to go to Applebee's first table we were seated at (a both) no problem but one, my baby 5months old was sleeping in till an employee there bumped into to the car seat and he didn't even apologize for it on top of that I wasn't even offered a car seat holder and to put it in more of an aspect where we were seated you cannot have one didn't find that out until I got up to grab a car seat holder when they confronted me about it and told me that. My first thought was why would you place a family of five with a car seat in a booth knowing they might want a car seat holder whitch we did i told them we wanted the car seat holder (especially after what just happened) so we moved tables then the service went downhill I did like our waiter in the beginning but as he got more customers we were excluded we felt also he walk right past us multiple times while we were trying to get his attention to get the check this went on for 10 minutes and my kids were done with there food and starting to act up so my husband was loud with it and asked for the check. To put it bluntly food amazingly good service needs a lot of improving I will not go back do to the incident...
