Hy-Vee Bakery — Restaurant in Janesville

While the bakery goods are pretty to look at, I am disappointed with the quality. I ordered 2 5 inch round birthday cakes a week in advance of pickup and wasn't impressed with how they turned out. I was celebrating two birthdays and they reversed the names on the cakes. I also ordered marble cake and they gave me one chocolate layer and one yellow layer instead. When we cut the cake, the entire top layer of the cake fell off before it even left the cake board, so I had to physically pick up the top layer and try to stick it back on. Overall I thought the flavor of the cake was okay, but they were pretty dry. Hy-Vee bakery is new in Janesville this year, so I haven't ordered birthday cakes here before, but going forward I will stick to Wal-Mart.
