I will not be returning to this establishment.

My wife and I went here on a Monday night around 5. We are not from the area and she is gluten free. She saw that the reviews were good and that they have a decent selection of gluten free items; so we went. Well...

Now, I want to make note that I am not clostrophobic nor do I mind small spaces. With that said.. My first impression upon walking in was that the space seemed crowded where the main dining area was. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. My wife prefers booths so we asked to move to the bar area where there was a booth available. The bar area also seemed too close together. I understand that bar design is supposed to have close contact to increase sales but this seemed like there wasn't enough space for 2 people to walk by each other comfortably. This atmosphere does not make for a cozy place.

Moving on to the service: the service was decent but not great. My wife asked if the restaurant has a gluten free bun if she were to get a burger. The waitress did not know but instead of saying she didn't know and then going to ask, she rudely said, "read the menu, if it's not on there, then I don't know". Ok... We can over look that. My wife asked to have the manager check for her and he came and was able to help. In case you're wondering, at the time of writing, this place DOES NOT HAVE A GLUTEN FREE BUNS for your burger if you want one. Bummer.. After that encounter, the service was just ok and nothing great to make a better impression. I asked for a sample of a beer and it was brought out within a few minutes. Not a big deal. The wait times for food and drink were all right for the amount of business they were having at the time.

To the food: I had the grilled burrito, the wife got the bbq burger on GF bread. Our food came out hot and in decent amount of time. I had asked for the chef to make my burrito a little on the hot flavored side; so I did modify it slightly. I read that the burrito was going to come with black beans and everything else that is in the burrito. I was slightly disappointed that the black beans were just on plate and not inside the burrito. At least the black beans were decent. There was a strange corn cake on the plate. Not sure what that was. It tasted okay. The burrito on the other hand, was not good. I did not modify that burrito that much for it to taste gross. They said that they were going to put jalapenos in it. They probably did but the burrito was gross. My wife asked for her burger to be medium it came out medium well; if not well. It was dry and tasted like a boxed patty. She also asked for a side of mashed potatoes. They came out and we both tasted the potatoes and they did not taste like anything but garlic salt. Not great.

I did have one positive thing from there. The beer. But I suppose you can't mess up a beer because they don't make it. (Well, I suppose you could pour it wrong) I did order a margarita but that was also gross and I had that replaced by a beer. The manager came and took off half of our bill.

When we first arrived, there was a bit of a wait (15-20mins) for a table. A couple at the corner of the bar were kind enough for us to hover by them to stay out of the way while we waited. Host service was great, they greeted us right away and were working hard to turn over tables. (The man bussing tables was also very Johnny-on-the-spot!). As we hovered by the bar, the bartenders checked on us twice, so I ended up ordering a soda, since we were taking up space and I didnt know how long we would truly be waiting (first timer). One bartender felt more in a bad mood than the other. Neither made eye contact nor gave a friendly smile. It was pretty busy, so I just chalked it up to a bad day. Took 5 minutes to pay (paying cash, $5 bill on $1.85), and they walked by us and checked on all of our neighbors, but ignored the bill and cash sitting on top (at this point we are actually sitting at the bar). Regardless, I got to our table after a couple minutes of paying, and did tip $1 for their time. The interactions with the bartenders, as well as the awkward waiting area (if we didnt have that nice couple, we would certainly be always in the way of the servers), was the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

The food and service at the table were incredible! The ingredients to my Caribbean chicken sandwich were fresh, and the flavor combinations turned out perfectly. The fries were perfectly done. I tasted my friend's blackened fish tacos made with mahi mahi and they were also very tasty. The salads that were delivered to the neighbors tables were huge and looked fresh! I am definitely going to come back to make sure I keep trying the food! Not to mention the food came out incredibly fast, so a quick stop is...

Had a lovely birthday lunch with family at the outside patio on a beautiful Sunday afternoon! Food fabulous, pleasant atmosphere, highly recommend. Two drawbacks - there is nothing to indicate you must check in with hostess in order to sit at patio tables - the doors were wide open, tables were seated so we just took a seat at an empty table and waited patiently. After being ignored for quite a while we asked a waitress if we could order drinks and she rudely said we had to go check in with hostess first - yet there was absolutely no sign indicating that it was necessary in order to be served, we had purposely looked around for a sign prior to sitting down - we eat outside at restaurants all the time and normally if you must go inside before you are acknowledged it is posted on door, gate or tables. Secondly, after our lovely meal their patio was empty and the day gorgeous so we sat and catch up with family we hadn'tseen in a year due to COVID restrictions. The wait staff walked by several times and peeked out the doors many times but never came to ask if we would like anything else so - to their loss, they lost money as we all would have liked another drink - but they all just played peek-a-boo out the door at us even when we tried to wave a waitress over to order. Very rude, they had no other business and we were paying customers and wanted to place after dinner drink orders, so, their loss of more sales and tips.
