I wish I had read the one-star reviews before going to this place, but I was just driving by and noticed this new churro spot I've never seen before so I decided to stop in. I grew up eating fresh churros from a Spanish food truck on the street corner from where I lived. They were AMAZING and set the bar high. I can NEVER enjoy a churro anywhere else like Disney or Sam's Club because they're hard, stale, and old- nothing like a fresh, light, warm, and crispy churro. I don't like the imposters. I had high hopes for this place because it seems they specialize in churros plus it looks cute and clean inside, there were customers eating in (which is usually a good sign), and the cashier told me they make them fresh for you. So I went ahead and ordered 3 churros for $6. They're each about 6 inches long and it comes with a dipping sauce of your choice. I was asked to wait about 7 minutes while they cooked it- which wasn't too bad. The Verdict: They look exactly like churros and they are fresh, but they don't taste like churros at all. I think it tasted like fried extra thick cake batter coated with sugar. I asked my fiance to try one to tell me what he'd describe it as and he said it's a damn donut. Of course! It's basically a donut stick. It's thick and heavy. Eating one felt like I had ate a meal. The other guy who gave them a one-star review from his Uber Eats order was correct in what he said. It's thick batter. Not like the ones I grew up eating. To me, a yummy irresistible churro is light airy dough that's fried (kind of like an eclair or French cruller type dough)- Chiki Churros is not it. Their food wasn't bad, just not what I expected. Their version of churro would be good with coffee during breakfast perhaps, but they're open from evening to late night. So that's not an option. Personally it's too heavy for me to eat even as dessert. That's a whole meal right there. I guess this is your place if you like thick donuts for dinner. My kid tried it and LOVED it, so to each their own. I'm giving 5 stars because although I did not get what I was hoping for, Chiki Churros is still a clean establishment, with great customer service, yummy food (according to my kid), and it's really adorable how they decorated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter a terrible and thoroughly disappointing dinner at a local steakhouse, my family and I sought out something to save our evening. Chiki's came to the rescue like a baseball hero and knocked it out of the park. My spouse got the key lime shake and liked it. It could have used some Graham-cracker crumbles as a topping to really slay the bad-dinner beast, but nevertheless she still greedily slurped up the contents of the shake. My oldest kid and I got the horchata shake and holy-moly was it good. I mean a "slap yourself on the mouth to make sure it's not a dream" good. When we leave the area to go back home, my heart (and mouth) will long for just one more sip. The other 2 kids got a chocolate shake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The desserts did not continue exist on this plane of existence for long. The young lady at the counter was super helpful and just as sweet as the treats she served us. If I lived in the area, this place would be a good reason to start up an exercise regimen so I wouldn't feel as guilty about the constant sugar intake.
Thanks for salvaging my family's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a bit of a Churro maniac, I have to taste every churro I see and when I saw they had a whole store for it? I nearly died in happiness. The inside is very cute with churro themed memes on the walls that had me laughing! I normally like churroās airy in the middle and these were a bit more dense in the middle. I also like when they load on the sugar, which they did! They were made to order and fresh out of the oven, they have a variety of dip flavors to choose from. These were utterly delicious 𤤠and I will 100% be a repeat client. Amazing! Thanks for the bites of heaven! Iāll definitely be...
