Fish Tales Jasper — Restaurant in Jasper

First off when we got there we walked in and stood at the door because there was no sign that said “seat yourself” then we waited for about 10-15min for our drinks to come out. We ordered appetizers with our meals and 45min into the wait I had to ask about them and the guy said let me check (they had not even dropped our appetizers yet) mind u they weren’t busy at all but the tables that were there were complaining of long wait times and some people had been there over 2 hours. We finally got our appetizers THEN another 30min wait for our food. Which was not good at all. I ordered stuff shrimp and when she brought everybody’s food she said they are dropping your shrimp now, she literally walked back in the kitchen and come back out with my shrimp. I thought that was odd so I pulled the shrimp out of the stuff bc I could smell a strong shrimp smell, (they weren’t cooked all the way) we just paid for our food and left but I don’t believe we...

Family of 4 here, We wanted to try a new place for dinner so we went to fish tails yesterday afternoon. We all ordered something different so we could make sure we tried several things. Unfortunately, our appetizer that we ordered along with mine and my husbands choice all had the etouffee on it and it tasted burnt and old. The only good thing about the meal was the French fries. Our daughter had fried fish and shrimp but it had no flavor as if the batter isn’t seasoned. As we were getting up from our table to go pay a roach was crawling past us. We brought most of our food home just to feed to our outside animals. We saw mostly good reviews but it was honestly the worst food. Maybe we went on a bad day but for the price we paid we will not be going back in hopes it’s better...

We stopped for seafood . We were very patient an kind. Knowing that the first day of any business is hectic. This was ridiculous. We waited 30 minutes to be given drinks told the waitress what we wanted. Two hours later when I ask about our order she said they had not even started on it. We are not from this town but 7-8 tables came in after us. People were served , ate an left. People walked in an ordered from counter food to go an received an left. After two an a half hours plus 30 min prior totaling 3 hrs we left after waisted time an stopped farther down the road. Was so disappointed. If ever passing thru Jasper Texas again we won’t waist our time at Fishtails there. Locals seem to get better service. So sorry this happened an we tried to be patient an kind...
