Ohana Sushi & Grill — Restaurant in Jasper

We were in tonight 1/15/17 at the French Lick location. It was just bad from the start. We sat at the bar, and after several minutes of trying to figure out who was actually working the bar... we were asked for our drink order. No "hi" or "welcome" or any type of greeting. We ordered our drinks, and decided to order a few sushi rolls as an appetizer. They came out quickly, and were actually pretty good. Nobody checked on us for about 15 minutes while we both sat with empty drinks. We finally ordered our entrees, and again nobody asked about our drinks as they sat empty. I ordered the 12oz Strip medium rare with asparagus and a side salad. The food surprisingly came put very fast, and we were still without fresh drinks. My asparagus was ice cold, and the steak was over cooked to at least medium well. I said something to the gentleman I assumed was the manager or bartender since he had poured a few drinks and seemed to just kinda be hanging out. He said he was actually the owner to my surprise since he had been standing near me watching the football game during our visit. He said he'd redo the steak which was a nice gesture, but I was very surprised he didn't seem too concerned with anything else going on. He told me the other steak was probably "aged too long". Lol. Anyway. We won't be back, and I wouldn't expect it to be open very long if the food and service remain subpar. Very...

This place is a joke. Asian inspired food, what they called fried rice was cafeteria rice at best. Steamed white rice with a fee cubed carrots from a can and a couple Lima beans. Steamed veggies that had been sitting in a warming table too long making them over cooked. The main course was thinly sliced steak wrapped around imitation crab meat which wasn't bad but for 27 bucks I'd expect a better meal in a whole. The sushi was made with probably the same cafeteria rice from the back. Very loose rolls that couldn't hold themselves together. You couldn't pick up your pieces and eat them like you should, just scrape them off the plate with a fork to eat. Atmosphere is not a high end restaurant at all but more of a sports bar feel with multiple TV's playing different sporting events. I mean one TV was play competition break dancing SMH. A bar literally to sit and older drinks and food in the exact same spot as it was back in the days of Jerry's. Other than paint and decor it's still Jerry's, way to spruce it up!!!!! I had ordered a boil I started eating and noticed the corn cows were ice cold . I was not to displeased with this as it was not a big deal. However the events that unfolded with the management was enough for me to say "this is not where I should be giving my business to"

When I pointed it out I told my waitress we would happily pay for the food however we did not want them to reheat it we were fine with just paying I had lost my appetite. She asked her manager to make a new one. Which is the right thing to do we had not eaten any of it yet. I just didn't pay 50 dollars for cold food. The manager sent my same plate back and said it was a new one ..... We were okay with paying and leaving.... What got me was that they tried to fool us with the same dish being reheated and brought back . The dishonesty was obvious..... We still tipped 40 dollars our waitress was great. Money was no issue here..... Dishonesty really ran us away.
