Ive been here a couple of times and the food and coffee tastes great. Never disappoints. We ordered Ham egg and cheese sandwiches once before this and when asked how we wanted the eggs we said over easy. We opened up the sandwiches to find the yolk everywhere. We made the assumption of it coming like that due to it being asked to be “over easy” and proceeded to enjoy it because it is still just as delicious.

Today we came back after coming in yesterday for some sandwiches, since this is our usual breakfast stop when we go out, and when asked about the eggs we asked for them to be more around the medium, to avoid the yolk rupturing the way it did before. They took the note down and didn’t say anything in regards to that.

While waiting for our 3 sandwiches and our pretty decently sized order, since we always order for 3, one of the chefs comes from the back practically yelling at us saying “Here friend let me tell you something, I would have to be a wizard to not rupture the egg when placing it in your sandwich, what you are asking me for is impossible” I felt every head turn towards us after that. We replied with us telling him that it was okay and to not worry about it in that case. He left and said “Thank you for Understanding”

When we got our order, one of our coffees was actually missing, and they double checked to see if we actually ordered 3. Which is fair, but a bit rude to do right in front of our faces after having a chef from the back come and tell us that he can’t do what we are asking for, and letting everyone know in the room that what we are asking him to do is “impossible” and “we must think he is a wizard” now on top of that we might be lying? Regardless we left without making a face or saying a word other than thank you.

I write this not to bring the place down because the food is awesome and I still am coming back because I love this place. But not once have I walked in and not felt like what we were ordering or the things we order which are basic items on the menu, are giving these workers a hard time. But having the chef call us out from the back of the house to me personally was just very inappropriate and villainizing towards us just because we ordered our items medium and explained the reason why. To our knowledge we assumed we were ordering it wrong and nothing else but got publicly humiliated for trying something different?

If the request can’t get done then i don’t understand the need for the question of how we wanted our eggs being asked. It just doesn’t make sense

The place is great, food is great, but the ambiance is just not really friendly. It’s a but awkward and judgmental and I believe that is something that should be pointed out and corrected within. I do wish to come back next time as be received in better spirits. I will be a bit skeptical or the way I am placing my order from here on out, because i don’t know if whatever I am asking for is going to be done or if I’m going to have someone rudely telling me they can’t, but the taste of the food and coffee will make me take that risk every time. I just wish they were trained a but more on professionalism when it comes to these...

Amazing sandwiches! I used to frequent the Marianao's on Armitage and La Crosse back in day until it shut down out of nowhere. And I would occasionally visit the Marianaos on Milwaukee and Prindiville St. but to my surprise that also shut down abruptly. I was heartbroken! But then I got word that a new one opened up on the northwest side off Addison and Milwaukee. Of course I had to pay a visit. And I must say I was excited! Delicious as always. In fact this Marianaos resembles the Armitage/ La Crosse one but with smaller wait times. Also the menu grew a bit from its former locations. Don't be afraid to customize your sandwich here either... if you ask they will make you your own creation. So get creative. So why such a low rating you might ask? Well the staff was what brought this rating down. As I walked away from my unfinished sandwich to get flatware from the counter, the young lady cleaning the tables assumed I was done. Not only did she have my tray in her hand but she also put the wet wipe that she cleaned every other table with on top of my food. I was appalled and very grossed out to say the least. But did I let it discourage me from finishing it off? Hell no, its Marianaos, of course I'm going to eat it germ infested and all! Next time please ask if someone is done with their food...

Today, I had the pleasure of stopping by Bia’s Café Marianao on my way to the car dealership, and I’m so glad I did! With such glowing reviews online, I had high expectations—and this café exceeded all of them.

The atmosphere is truly transcendent, instantly transporting you to Cuba with its vibrant energy and the sound of happy conversations all around. It’s a place where the joy is infectious.

The food? Absolutely incredible. The tostones chips are to die for, and the double Cuban sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly balanced flavors that left me wanting more.

One thing that confused me at first was the ordering process. I wasn’t sure if they came to the table to take your order or if you ordered at the counter. It turns out you order at the counter and then find a seat—no big deal once I figured it out.

The staff was friendly, attentive, and clearly took pride in making everyone feel welcome. The café was clean and well-maintained, with great music that added to the vibe without overpowering conversation.

Overall, this place is a gem. If you’re looking for amazing Cuban food, a warm atmosphere, and great service, Bia’s Café Marianao is the place to be. I’ll...

I’m giving a 5 but it’s a soft five. The reason being is I’m not Cuban and not sure if this is just how they do certain things and this is only my second time doing Cuban(I’m referring to the dishes please read in). Staff was very helpful to a rookie and everyone is very nice and helpful. Steak sandwich was solid but if I had to pick between the 2 I’d go with the ham egg and cheese which I also had. That was fantastic! My reason for coming was the Cubano coffee in which I had the first time I went to a Cuban restaurant in Miami. This Cubano didn’t taste like that so that’s mainly why I was a little disappointed. And I didn’t understand the plastic and styrofoam coffee cups. And as always on my reviews I check the restrooms and they were spotless! We got seating and the place was real busy. Food came very quick. So other then the cups/mugs which was just strange this place is solid.
