El Gallo Bravo — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

First time I get a torta from this place. My coworkers told me sometimes the food is good and sometimes is not. Like the other day they order steak and the meat was not good at all. But today we were very hungry and since this is the closest Mexican place we decided to give it another try.

So I called first and a lady took my order. I ordered an egg torta with no beans because I work in an office and it gives me gas and I don’t like the to be bloated at work.

When I got my order. The torta had beans. I called and the lady not the one that took the order told me to bring the remaining order and that I would get A new torta without beans.

I had not eaten for hours and i was very hungry. I removed the beans from the torta and ate it and took the other half back. I felt bloated later and with gas. The lady checked the torta and said she was not gonna give me credit because I had eaten half. Then she said that I never ordered the torta without beans. Which was not true. I asked for the owner and she said that the owner was the one that took the order. But anyway she gave me the new torta. Told me to better not come back anymore. Which I agree. People that lie and make food Its better to stay away from.

Please make sure you got proof of what you order from the el Gallo on Belmont and Milwaukee. Very rude staff. Owner doesn’t care to keep a client but to fight over a few dollars. Even if I would have given her the whole Torta what was she gonna do with it?Give it to another customer? She has to throw it away of course. I had to go back during work hours to take the torta back because of their mistake. Last night/morning 1:30 am, my husband went and picked up 2 burritos. He was coming home from work and was too tired to eat. This morning for breakfast we decided to eat the food. There was a black plastic shard in my burrito. I feel like calling to make them aware but feel like it will lead to nothing. The other burrito had to be thrown out. Second concern is how sad and flavorless it was. Sad dangerous burrito. Will not eat here again or recommend . Try Los Portrillos on Belmont. It's a grocery store as well.
