Hello, fellow human people! I read all of the negative and horrifying reviews on this particular location but decided against my better judgment to take a gamble and give them a shot. My experience was not great, but it was also not terrible. It's what I like to call the Goldilocks Zone, which is neither good nor bad, but was just right.
Decided to drop by shortly after they opened and ordered through their drive-thru. For over 20 bucks, I picked up a Fill-up Box and a couple of sides, which was handed to me quite quickly. The service was decent. The workers at that time were young people who were neither overly-enthusiastic nor blatantly rude and inept. Again, it was just the Goldilocks standard of service, which was just right.
Brought my box home and me and my demonic litter of wolf beasts dug right in. Right off the bat, I noticed immediately that everything inside of the box tasted of cardboard, especially the fries and biscuits, which is probably why they supply an abundance of different sauces to help mask the strange flavor. The fried chicken was actually quite crunchy, but again, there was an underlying, very obvious taste of cardboard hiding amongst the herbs and seasoning on the batter. The nuggets were decent, tender, and were really the only food items that tasted the least like cardboard.
Overall, I'd say that the quality of the food was just OK. It is edible and made slightly palatable, mainly due to the various sauces provided inside the box, and I am relieved that we didn't get sick from whatever we consumed. It's certainly not the same KFC I recall eating as a young Werewolf pup 30+ years ago when it was still good, and it will probably never reclaim its former glory. With that said, I most likely won't be visiting this location again. One and done and on...
Read moreSharing this as someone who usually opts for Chick-fil-A or Canes.
I always appreciate more competition in the industry, so if you guys are trying to put yourselves back on top, I have a few suggestions.
The Drive-Through area and exterior of your building is in rough shape. The most noticeable change that could be made is replacing parts of the outdoor menu (microphone box, plastic cover for the menu, etc). The parking lot has potholes.
Wait time was strangely long. I pulled up to the menu, and despite there only being one car in front of me, the person on the radio asked me to wait and took a good 2 minutes to get back to me. Orders should be snappier. Not sure if this requires more staff or a better system of ordering.
The chicken was great, but having the items put in a box, in a plastic bag, and then a paper bag makes it soggy. When I got home my bread roll and fries were damp, as were the napkins. Somehow you've gotta come up with a way to allow the heat to breath so the fries and bread can stay crispy. Also consider throwing an extra sauce in with your larger entrees. Two sauces for fries and five tenders was a bit stingy.
Wish you all the best. I'd love for KFC to be a major player in the chicken fast...
Read moreAgain, it's a month later, mid April, and 7pm on a sat night, no chicken. Tenders only. How is this place still open. It. Has a nice, handicap lady in a wheel chair running it. And 1 other guy in the whole place, that looks like he mixed in moms basement until 30. Probably still does. Unreal.. why even pay to keep lights on. ??? Don't waste your time going here.
Every time I walk in this place, don't matter what time of day, they never have chicken. Always hear the same thing, " we just sold it all, be atleast 20 minutes." How can a chicken place, never have chicken ready ? It's not cook as ordered. Never had this happen at another location. Only one close to my house, and last 5 or 6 times I've been here, always walked out with nothing. It's been happening for the last 6 to 8 months. Don't know how they stay open. UPDATE.. I ended up waiting 25 minutes, because the family wanted it. The new price for an 8pc original, mixed white and dark, with 2 sides and 4 biscuits, is now $31... Needless to say, I'll never come back here again. I should have read the reviews 1st. But we've been coming here for years. This will...
