I've been eating Long John Silver's chicken for a long time. So long in fact that I started eating them when they were called "chicken planks." During this time period, there have been instances where the food was below expectations. But overall the food has been pretty good. But, for the the last year or so, the food from the location on Fullerton Avenue has been absolutely horrible!!! I've tried to give this location my support time and time again. But it seems that unless you instruct them to have your food cooked fresh, you're probably going to be very dissatisfied with your meal. I recently ordered from this location and every single piece of food was rock hard. How does a food establishment actually sell this to their customers? I've never had a meal this terrible 😕 It's really a shame because there aren't any other LJS locations that are near my home. So, as a result, when I do have a taste for this, I have to gamble and take a chance on whether the food will actually be edible once I return home 🤬 If I could give a rating lower than 1...
Read moreLJS as a franchise has been on slow decline for the better part of a couple decades now, obviously a casualty of consumer trends towards healthier eating habits. Still, there seems to remain some niche market in the Chicago area with several competitors all vying for the title of 'best fish and chips'. Almost any Chicago-area restaurant beats LJS in terms of authenticity but unfortunately none beat LJS on taste and price. Who wants to spend $30 a plate at Boston Fish Market for two pieces of fried cod or $20 dollars a plate at BignLittle's where they change the fryer oil on what tastes like a monthly basis? While the only downside to LJS is the fact you're eating at a fast-food restaurant where the service can be hit or miss, it doesn't negate the fact that no one in the Chicago area has been able to make a better tasting...
Read moreIt’s been awhile, but on 6/18/24 I went to Long John Silver’s on Fullerton Av in Chicago. Paid for my food with my debit card and realized once I got home I did not have my card. Drove back up there which is a 12 minute ride and told the guy at the drive thru that he didn’t return my card and that SOMEONE ELSE’S FOOD HAD ALSO BEEN CHARGED TO MY CARD as well. He just said, “the manager will give you a refund”.
I was disgusted because no one ever said I’m sorry, or here’s a gift card, or perhaps even a free meal. I told her that I had to drive all the way back up here while my dinner was at home getting cold and she just ignored me and processed the refund. When I got home, I immediately filed a complaint online with customer service and to this day, I have NOT received a response. What a joke of an over priced mediocre...
