Customer service could be better The place looked clean. We were seated for more than 10 minutes No one came to ask about anything No menu was provided to us So we left without ordering Hopefully will give it another try some other day and update this review Don’t trust the fake negative reviews. Check the profiles of people who are giving negative reviews they’re usually fake accounts with a single review of this restaurant. They’re obviously fake accounts made to defame this restaurant. Update to owner : Walekum assalam brother I don’t want to point any fingers or cause anyone to lose their job but you guys need to upgrade your customer service. I understand that you guys are busy and but please let your staff know to check on each and every customer who enters your restaurant as this might cause poor customer experience. Good luck!

First off, If possible I would give this place 0 stars. This place has gone from one of the best places to eat in Chicago to the worst. We ordered Mutabak, Lamb Kabsa and Lamb Haneeth. Mutabaq was ok, Lamb Kabsa tasted like Lamb Mandi with some sort of chilli powder/cayenne sprinkled on top, didn’t look/taste like Kabsa and the flavor was off. Lastly, Lamb Haneeth looked like Lamb Haneeth but completely tasteless and the worst part is the lamb actually looked and tasted like beef which is just ridiculous. Haneeth also had whole spices in it including green cardamom, clove, cinnamon stick. I have never seen whole spices in Haneeth before. After eating, I went to pay for the meal and I asked the lady at the counter if they have the same Chef and guess what the Chef left. Her exact words were “He is making more money driving a truck”. I am not upset that the chef left, I am sure he has his reasons. The only thing I am really upset about it is the owner should have instructed the staff to let the customer’s know before they sat down to eat that the backbone of this restaurant which is the Chef has left and we have a desi cook trying to make mediocre Yemeni cuisine. I am never going back to this place and I will tell everyone I know who eats here to stay far away from this restaurant.

A hidden gem in a area where predominantly indian/pakistani cuisine is served. This area was missing one proper Arabian/Mediterranean cuisine serving restaurant and Sheba didn't disappoint. I can easily say it's one of the best food I had around Chicago when it comes to this cuisine. The ambience is cozy and doesn't go over the top, its basic but done enough to keep you comfy. Now the food, damn they have outdone my expectation because lack of competition in this type of food serving around the area could have made them little lazy but no.. The food is always fresh and portion size is well served.. Haneet is my favorite dish there... All in all big win for foodies like me and also for the restaurant..

The Haneeth here is some of my favorite due to the tenderness of the meat as well as it’s rich flavor and juiciness. I have been to Sheeba mandi many times and I always love getting the Lamb Haneeth. Each time, it lives up to my expectations and tastes phenomenal. They also have tasty vegetarian options like a fava bean dish that was also very tasty and a must try for those who are not a fan of meat dishes. The staff is very kind and accommodating and there is plenty of space to sit and eat comfortably. Overall, I absolutely love Sheeba Mandi and wholeheartedly recommend the Lamb Haneeth. (Pro Tip: get the chai after your meal and thank me later)

One of best places to enjoy Yemeni cuisine. Everything on their menu is excellent and reasonably priced. We’d had lamb haneeth in the past so in comparison that was better than the chicken we ordered this time. The lamb Fahsa is generous in serving and the bread is fresh. Their mango vimto is sooo rich and creamy and you can taste the real mango. Soups are flavorful too. Will definitely be coming back soon. Only complaint is that they should probably have a double entry way because the current door barely keeps the wind out and it gets kinda chilly inside during winter inspite of the heating.

Abu Hani is back ! I can eat outside again. Sheer delight at Sheeba the other night when I ordered mutapq and Adeni Tea to go, and none other than Chicago's own, Original Yemeni Chef, Abu Hani, walked out from behind the swinging doors with a huge platter of spiced right rice and steaming hot lamb. I haven't tasted authentic Megalgal and Masoob in many, many moons. Sheeba is crowded, it's chaotic, it's crazy; but in that charismatic old school, family-style, sit down, homesick remedy soup, saltah and sahawegg type of way. ! NEIU student discount! Have the Haneeth!
