If based on customer service alone, this Taco Bell would get 5 stars. Seriously, everyone behind the counter smiled, was friendly and seemed genuinely wanting to be working there. However, when first arriving, we couldn't even tell it was open, it was completely empty and none of the lights were on indicating they were open. We took a chance walking up to the door and were surprised it wasn't locked. It had a ransacked look to it, which is totally understandable, I know places get slammed and it's hard to be everywhere at once and still keep up with the cleanliness, but this place was dead. We ordered our food to go and got out quick. Food was ok, although one of the dorito tacos tasted like a regular taco shell, but it was dark in the car and we were too hungry to verify. NBD on that, just an evening of giving in to your standard Taco Bell cravings.

So, I went to Long John silver which is also partners with Taco Bell over by the brickyard home Depot. I did a cabinet refacing at my cousin's house and I always stop in at long johns when I am in the area because I love there fish and hush puppies and we don't have them in Humboldt Park area where I live so I grab a 6 pack of fish and some hush puppies for a quick take home dinner for my son and myself. Can't go wrong, delicious food and reasonably priced. Next time you're out that way or by another one of their locations, stop in and try them out, you won't be disappointed.

I'd give the place 4.5 stars if I could as cleanliness can be an issue on their heavier days. I won't bring it down to 4 stars because they do have two menus and a drive thru to juggle as well. So a lot of running around is required and their only incentive is their minimum wage. A simple fast food restaurant with an efficient staff. A fast-food restaurant cannot be held in the same regards as a 3 to 5 star dine-in full service restaurant. I've seen some reviews and complaints that go beyond just to bash the place. At a fast food I expect my food to be complete in 10 minutes. No more than 15 should be waited otherwise it becomes a diner. Regardless, I rarely if ever experience any mix ups, missing items, long waits or anything else mentioned by older reviews. I believe the staff has been changing in employees and effectiveness for the better over the couples years I've been frequenting this locale. Food I've ordered from any of the two menus has always been fresh and mostly quick. They latest they've been with my food is 4 to 6 minutes tops. My order is usually above 20 dollars so I expect them to take a little more time, but they move quick. It's usually an employee at the drive thru and another at the front register. I've only ever seen the boss there do both registers at the same time and I think he's just covering till someone else clocks in. On average there's between 2 to 3 cooks in the kitchen. The accuracy of the order is never a problem with me, but I have seen some employees miss others' items. This happens mainly due to the customer's confusing line of questioning and backtracking, forcing employees to void items and/or ask a boss to clear the screen. It's mostly quiet, the way I like it. No panhandlers or peddlers loitering there and neither is the music too loud. The drive thru moves pretty fast as their current boss has a strong focus on quick service and fast solutions anytime there's a second request or change of order. Placing overly large orders beyond 45 dollars at the drive thru is not recommended for ANY fast food restaurant as it bogs down all of the employees and focuses their attention to get that order out before others get antsy. However, I've seen them handle these types of orders quickly and rarely inaccurately. Unfortunately, this doesn't stop customers from putting huge orders at the drive thru. That would explain the complaints people have of the speed of their drive thru. All in all, I think this place is great as none of the staff have ever given me poor attitude (maybe an understandable hangry face if they haven't had their break yet, but never snappiness or rushing). They're very knowledgeable. No one has ever given me the sarcasm I usually expect from younger employees. They are well taken care of as the restaurant's AC and/or heating hasn't ever failed (yet). So of course they'd be smiley or at least neutral, never irritated. I'd recommend this any time...

2nd time in a row this place gets my order wrong after charging me extra for things like "supreme" style tacos...of many many times. The other day happened to order breakfast burritos, upcharged me for steak and did not give me steak, gave me bacon. Went back they seemed annoyed made me wait a super long time then replaced it. Today didnt feel like going back for the correct food cause of the line, so they just got to up charge me for free money. Also not a single napkin, utensil nothing for 4 orders. This place is disappointing in food and service almost every time I go there, too bad it's the closest taco bell to...
