I was excited to try this new restaurant since it's just down the block from me. I made reservations for 630 pm. on a Saturday, for me, my husband, and my 5 year old. There's really nothing for kids here: food-wise or drink-wise. Luckily, my child was fine with just water, bread, and some chicken. The place looked really high end. The chairs and bench were covered in a black velvet material; super comfortable. I loved the dark colors of the place: the walls, the seats, the floor, and even the plates. We started off with drinks: Margarita for me, Remolacha for my husband, and water for my son. (they do serve pop, but he doesn't drink that, yet). The drinks were pricey, but at least they were well made and can get you drunk. The margarita was great, I liked the smokey aftertaste of the Remolacha, and the Tamarinda, which i ordered later, was sweet. For appetizers, we had the Empanadas (chicken, beef, and veggie) - all were tasty, but surprisingly, I liked the Veggie the most. The side of chimichurri sauce added to their flavors. For dinner, we ordered the Carne Asada Para 2. It came with two slabs of meat: one without bone and one with. I thought it was good, but my husband loved it that he eventually sucked all the meat off the bone. I did like the salad that accompanied our meal as well as the asparagus and chorizo. We ordered the 1/2 chicken for our child, but we asked to put the sauce on the side. He actually liked the chicken, which was a plus. I also tried some of his chicken but added the sauce: wow, so good. Lastly, I had to try dessert. We had four options, and I decided to get the Tres Leche. It was a big portion, tasted great but way too sweet, even for me. Overall we enjoyed our meal. The waitstaff was friendly and very attentive. We had someone constantly filling up our water, clearing our plates, and wiping down our table. I'm glad a place like this is at EP and I hope it stays for...
Read moreWestos has a beautiful, intimate ambience—dim lighting, elegant decor—making it a great spot for a date night. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Our recent visit for a birthday celebration (a party of 20) was underwhelming, with lackluster service, mediocre food, and several outright disappointments.
Service & Timing: The service was slow, and despite the long wait, the food arrived lukewarm—some dishes were nearly cold. For a steakhouse that likely prides itself on quality, this was unacceptable.
Appetizers: We tried three starters, and all missed the mark: Ceviche: Overly fishy, lacking lime brightness, and underseasoned. It also came with only four chips for an entire bowl—absurd for sharing. Empanadas: The beef version was the best of the three, but the chicken and veggie options were forgettable.
Main Courses:
16 oz Ribeye: Poorly seasoned, with no depth of flavor—just a heavy char taste. The cut itself was subpar for a steakhouse. Lamb Chops: Tiny portions, also underseasoned and overly charred. The side of sweet mashed potatoes clashed with the dish, making for a confusing pairing. Papa Bravas & Chimichurri: The potatoes had a strange vinegary taste (no spice at all), and the chimichurri was bland, tasting like "vinegar water."
Final Thoughts: Given the high prices, we expected far better execution. The only reason to visit might be for drinks during happy hour—skip the food. With so many superior steakhouses in the area, we won’t be returning. A major letdown for what should have been a...
Read moreBased on the reviews, I made a plan to go to this place for dinner with some friends. We went on a Friday evening with a prior reservation. First, the music was old tunes my Mexican mother used to play while cleaning on weekends. Second, our waitress was missing most of the time and couldn’t get the orders right. We got our first round of drinks after a bit of a wait. She dropped off chips and salsa and then disappeared again. This time, we became impatient after waiting 35 minutes for her to return. We had to ask someone to send her to our table.
By this point, everyone was starving, and the mood was ruined. When she finally came back and apologized, everyone was just about ready to leave and head across the street for pizza. We stayed because we were finally getting closer to eating. However, she kept forgetting items we had ordered, including drinks. She tried to make up for the poor service by being attentive only after the restaurant had mostly cleared out. By then, it was too late, as everyone was already upset with the lack of service and how bad it was when it was available.
The food was nothing special. Even the burger someone ordered was overly salty, and no one was impressed. Overall, it was disappointing because the place has a nice aesthetic. However, due to the mediocre service, I do not recommend this restaurant and won’t be returning. There are plenty of other steakhouses and seafood places with better food and service. For $535+ with an included gratuity… this place lacks. Train your servers or hire more during peak days. If I could give 0 stars for service, I wouldn’t hesitate. No manager approached us even after it was evident that our table wasn’t happy after we had to ask the host to send our...
