Great staff! Great food! Great prices!

I stopped in for the first time this afternoon for a fish fry. The cod, perch, walleye are all freaking awesome. Cooked perfectly and tender and juicy. Let's be honest, what's a real Wisconsin fish fry without potato pancakes. I've had my fair share of potato pancakes in my day and many a time poor ones. They make them from scratch here and they are AMAZING! The tartar sauce is made from scratch and compliments the fish wonderfully. My whole meal was perfect.

I'm moving to Verona or Fitchburg soon and will definitely make the 1hr drive at least twice a month to come back for this. The staff and patrons at Rock Bottom Saloon & Eatery are all very friendly and sincere people and I felt very welcomed when I came in and sat down with a group of regulars. Many times you get strange looks like, "who's this new person and why are they here?" I felt very welcomed and even the owner introduced himself to me which is pretty awesome.

I would give 0 stars if possible. The only plus side was the young man working behind the bar was friendly. We asked the original lady behind the bar what was on the pork nachos. She stated pork, cheese, black bean and corn salsa and chipotle sauce. We asked for the sauce on the side. When they arrived there was no salsa to be found and shredded cheese that was just tossed on top. We asked for them to be sent back to melt the cheese. (The picture below is after they came out a second time) The cook openly talked about us to other customers because we asked why the cheese wasn’t melted on the nachos. She told other patrons “sorry we don’t use cheese sauce, that’s probably what she expected.” We didn’t expect cheese sauce but have never had nachos that didn’t have melted cheese. How do you eat them when the shredded cheese just falls off??? While I appreciate that they were removed from the bill the whole experience was awkward at best. The owners have been in the new rock bottom express location for 2 years and have not updated their Google name or address. I came tonight to try them out and started at the old location that still has the sign above the door only to realize the doors were locked and the place was closed. Walking back to the car I saw Rock bottom express across the street. We went in, got a table and found a tiny menu with common bar food fare, I get the impression food is an afterthought here and it's really just a glorified bar. The food was fine but just average.

It's pretty sad when a first time customer has to suggest edits to Google for the listings name and address because the owner has no pride in their business to take down the signage at the old location or update their listing on their own. There is no website nor online menu to be found.
