My wife and I have been coming to this Cluckers location regularly for about 5 to 7 years. We've always really enjoyed the easy-going atmosphere and we absolutely loved their wings. In fact, we used to use the Cluckers wings as the "standard" when comparing wings from other places.
We haven't been to Cluckers for almost 2 years due to Covid. Yesterday, we decided to return to Cluckers and re-introduce ourselves to those yummy wings!!
Where the heck did they go?
First off, please accept this PSA for all servers in the universe: If you can't 100 percent remember the order EXACTLY as your customers order it, WRITE IT DOWN! You're not impressing anybody when you don't write down the order if you can't remember the order!!! Just stop!
My wife ordered ten bone-in wings that were all "drummies" tossed in bar-b-que sauce. There's a slight upcharge for all "drummies", but no biggie. Our server suggested that I consider having my wings prepared "Tony's style" which is when the wings are finished-off on the grill. In all the years we've been coming, I never tried this - so why not give 'em a try? I ordered 15 bone-in wings "hen hot" prepared "Tony's style".
Did I mention that our server didn't write-down our order?
When my wings were delivered to our table, our server apologized for not having my wife's food, explaining it would be out soon. Since we've been married nearly 32 years, I saw no reason to be polite and wait for my wife's food to arrive so I dug-in to my wings. Let me just say - "Tony's style" sucks! My wings were so dry, I could barely choke-them-down! I should've sent them back but I didn't. I thought they might get better as I worked through the basket. They didn't. I strongly advise against "Tony's style" wings and won't order wings prepared that way again. WTH, Tony????
My wife's wings finally arrived. Immediately my wife remarked, "I ordered all drummies". The server replied that she was sorry that she forgot when she put the order into the computer. To her credit, the server offered to remake the order, but at that point my wife just wanted to eat, lol!
By the way, did I mention that out server didn't write-down our order?
Our experience kinda went downhill from there because our server started tending bar. Her attention was 95 percent at the bar and 5 percent at our table. I started going up to the bar and asking her for stuff - she never "caught-on". I even bussed our table to clear all the baskets of wing bones and napkins by setting them on the bar. She gave me a big "thank you", lol! She was totally clueless about what was occurring. Very pleasant, but very clueless.
As we walked to our car, my wife said that she'd had her "fill" of Cluckers for a...
Read moreGreat views of the river and bridges. Especially great at night when everything lights up, but that’s where things end for this place. When we arrived we were told to sit anywhere so we chose outside on their deck being that it was a fairly nice evening out. We sat down at the least dirty table we could find. I assume we just came in after a decent rush. We waited a solid 10 minutes before asking the host for a server. He said someone would be over shortly. We waited another 10 minutes and finally asked a server who was cleaning a table near us if she knew where our server was. She said ,”Oh yeah, my bad.”, and then asked if we wanted something to drink and then returned with menus. Once she returned with our drinks she asked if we were ready to order. Never being here we asked for a little more time with the menu. 10 more minutes pass by and our server is just in chatting with friends. She comes out every now and again to pick up things from other tables making eye contact with us here and there as we are clearly ready to order. I have to call out for her the next time she comes out to let her know we are ready, as if she forgot we were her table again. We order, and the food doesn’t take too long to come out. Our server forgets to bring a side item for my girlfriend and we ask for it. More time passes and it never comes. My girlfriend goes inside to ask the bar for her side only to find our server in chatting with friends again. The food is mediocre at best. Prices are fair for what you get. This place closes at midnight and we felt like we were being rushed out by 10:30. I will say they discounted our check 20% without asking which was gracious of them. I serve myself so I understand the job, it’s really not that complicated. I tip accordingly. Our server was clearly young and inexperienced. She has a bit to learn about the service industry. That being said we will not be returning. I should have read reviews before visiting. It appears that others have had a similar...

This is by far my favorite place to get chicken, and my favorite part about it is the price! On top of a reasonably priced meal, you can get half priced appetizers various times throughout the week. I get the chicken tender basket for $9.99, which is perfect size for me as I like having a little snack for later. The service has been prompt for the most part, but occasionally you have the waitress that is more on the lackadaisical side. I say waitress because 85% of the servers are young women - it's a bar. The chicken has never disappointed, and we almost always get an appetizer. I will keep emphasizing - I have never left feeling like I didn't get what I paid for.
To compare:
Cluckers - 2 people avg $25-$40 + tip Good food, decent service, animated atmosphere - it's a bar
Hooters - 2 people avg $25-$40 + tip Mediocre food, terrible service, animated atmosphere - once again.. it's a bar. Now, I have been to Hooters once in my life, in the last 6 months, and I will never go back again. I got 8 chicken nuggets (or as they like to call it, boneless wings), didn't come with fries or side, and an appetizer. Paid roughly a little more than Cluckers but got a lot less! The fried pickles were ok. My friend got the extremely hot sauce on his nuggets, and the server never came back to refill the water. Awful experience all around.
Roosters - looking at about the same price, service, and atmosphere as those mentioned above, but the flavor and quantity are lacking.
Lee's - drive thru is always a plus, and you get a lot of food for your money. Potato wedges are a win! If you want a lot of food for the price, then this is the place to feed a group! Flavor is good, but freshness isn't there because it's fast food.
For myself or a couple, I choose Cluckers 1st! I would like to thank the Cluckers company for making quality food for those...
