Wanted to go for my mothers day. We were told 60-90 minutes wait time. I was expecting that. Need more seating for the wait. Ended up waiting in between the two doors. Noticed dead bugs on the floor next to the vacuum cleaning. I was getting turned off. The two rugs inside could have used a good vacuuming with the foot traffic that morning as well but I overlooked it. The staff spent there time talking instead of cleaning. I know they were busy that day but all the more reason to clean, clean, clean. A small group of 3 - 4 people went in with a chihuahua dog in the arms of one person. I am an avid animal lover but not in restaraunts. I thoroughly considered leaving at that time. Except that we had already waited almost an hour at that point. I looked around and did not see a "no pet" sign. I find that very interesting. We did finally get seated at about an hour. I can tell you I looked for the people with the dog. If I was to be seated near them I would have waited for another table but they were far enough away. Our chairs had food on them and we had to wipe them off. Our waitress was great. She smiled, was very friendly and efficient. Considering how busy they were and our long wait that was very good to see. Food and dring was fast, hot and very good. All in all I would recommend but maybe go to Louisville. I am not sure I will be back to...
Read moreWe heard good things about this place and decided to try it out. Food was good, the batter around the steak that was had was a little sweet but not to the point you would hate it. Eggs was very fresh, Toast was thick slices but that was better than most places and the butter that came with it was smooth and easy to spread. Potatoes seemed to be a little on the greasy side but not to the point you couldn't eat them. Chairs screeching across the floor was a slight distraction from the meal. Our waitress was training someone and that could have taken a little bit away from what we expected but the trainee had to learn the job and the trainer went over the top as best as she could.
The water had a slight chlorine taste and the lemon in it didn't quite give us the lemony taste that it needed. The coffee was the best we have had, way better than the other places we usually go to. The booth we sat it had the seats already broken down to the point that we were leaning to the other side just to sit up straight but I blame the maker for that and not the owner. Overall we enjoyed the place and would return as soon as we can. I give it an over 4.5 stars because and only because this business is ever changing . Plus it is difficult to give them 5.0 stars and go back next week only to receive...
Read moreIf I could give “service” 10 extra stars I would. Elijah was our wonderful server. He was beyond what I would call a “perfect” host. The way he interacted with us and all the tables I overheard, was what every restaurant should hope and strive for with their staff. So much so, if I were management there, I’d have him train any new employee and even refresh the current ones. He was attentive, kind, explained things on the menu that I’d have never ordered were it not for his detailed (and yummy sounding) description. The breakfast tots with a side of queso is specifically what I speak of. I mean, Who knew they take their wonderful hashbrown casserole (that I’d originally asked about) smooth it out, cut it in squares and deep fry it? And who knew the side of queso made it that much better? Elijah, that’s who. Now I’m hungry. lol.
I love wild eggs and don’t live near one or I’d be by more often. The hour + drive to this one, is worth it for a fun road trip. Ask for Elijah and be wowed by his kind and loving of life/people personalty.
Seriously wild eggs, get this guy into a management position or something. Employees like him are very few and far between. Trust me, I know. I also run a business and I wish I had 10 Elijah’s who were as dedicated to doing a great job as...
