Wanted to edit my review**
Came to Clarksville location for 2 coffees and 2 muffins. A regular coffee - and a vanilla iceberg. Ordering was smooth. I got up to the window to pay for my order, total was $17.80 something… I give the lady my card she takes it, sticks it in the reader, turns the reader over, it asks for a tip, I politely decline- told her I didn’t have time to do all of that today - she turned the reader around - said it declined - I didn’t see anywhere on her reader that it declined - she didn’t really show me either - told me I still owed $2 and something - so no biggie - I paid it - what’s two dollars?? She turned it around again and asked for a tip, I declined , she then said my card declined again… this time I owed like some change , close to a dollar - or something of that nature - I started kind of laughing because I really didn’t know what was going on. Cashier asked me if it was Apple Pay and I said no it’s a regular bank card - or asked me to pay Apple Pay I don’t know which - and of course I said no … we kind of argued back and forth because I said it had to be on her end - and I even went to the lengths of showing her my bank account transaction for that specific transaction showing it took $17 and then $2 off there and I’m not sure why it keeps saying declined… it was not that big of an issue - and I told her she may want to go get her manager - and she ignored me - got rude and dismissive with me - I essentially asked where her manager was if he was there etc etc, she said she didn’t know when he would be back she doesn’t know schedules things of that nature - she didn’t know numbers - emails - corporate number - and didn’t even give me a receipt lol. - very very poor customer service in my opinion. When handed my coffee - the coffee lid was dirty and it looked spilt - and very very messy. It was leaking and dripped on my lap and my vehicle - she didn’t even offer to give me a napkin - she KNEW she gave it to me like that - it’s COMMON SENSE . Plus she even asked me at the window if I wanted my muffins warm - I said yes - and she gave them to me cold … and upside down lol … (not sure if this is standard practice ??) just seemed really petty and low treatment - not very classy at all.
She essentially got tired of dealing with me after refusing to help me with the error in transaction - dismissed me and had another cashier give me my items. (He was nice and I understand frustration - but there was absolutely no reason to act this way)
I was never rude to this cashier - I actually had to ask her why she was being rude - and she just kept being childish and trying to argue back and forth with me - I told her she needed to learn communication skills - in the nicest way possible.
We both went our ways - but I didn’t get my money back or even an explanation as to why this occurred- so I called expecting a manager. She answered the phone - and I asked her when her manager was going to be back - she huffed and puffed - and said she didn’t know and to call corporate and hung up on me. I tried to call back and got ignored - called back again and same thing - hung up on .
I’ve never had issues at this store… I’m not sure why it had to turn into something it never should have been. I only ever wanted to discuss with a MANAGER why the multiple transactions were occurring - and was dismissed - wasn’t even offered a refund… was basically told to screw off lol.
I would never treat another human this way. It sounds to me this cashier isn’t too excited to be at work…
I emailed the manager and I reported this incident and filed a complaint and was told this issue will be addressed. Have yet to hear from the manager.
I generally enjoy this location and as I said have NEVER had issues before. But for some reason today was totally different and honestly- if it was my coffee and my client didn’t pay for it - I wouldn’t go back… I probably won’t ever go back here… I was told I’m welcome at the New Albany location - (btw you got some fantastic workers over there!) (Oh btw both coffees...

Read moreEdit: For some reason the drink quality has took a sharp downward dive. On some days the coffee is consistent with the HB name, and on others, it isn't at all. I recently had to return two drinks for how awful they tasted. The drive thru times are also much, much higher on the days that the coffee tastes bad. The customer service is still top notch, the environment is still great, and not all days are bad. However, more often than not I regret going because of the lesser quality of the drinks. It's the creation not the ingredients.
I've been visiting this place since they opened. It's always had a different vibe than the Louisville locations, but the coffee is still top shelf. I fear that shops like Coffee Crossing will put them out of business in the area. The atmosphere is great, and the selection...
