When I first bought my dress, it fit me almost perfectly and I loved how it looked on me. After ordering the recommended size from the boutique I got it from, the dress finally came in and I tried it on once more only to be disappointed that it was no longer fitting me like when I originally tried it on; the sleeves were baggy and long, the waist was loose, the dress wasn't holding me up in my bust, etc.

Having zero experience with dress alterations, I went off some Google reviews and chose to take a risk and take the most expensive dress I own to SBW for alterations, and boy was that the best decision I could have made! Erin was not only the most pleasant person to be around, but she helped me understand what was needed every step of the way, made me feel comfortable about the care my dress was receiving, helped me laugh my way through the process, and delivered my dress not only in perfect condition but in a way that now fit me exactly like I envisioned it the day I bought it.

I cannot recommend Stitches by Wendy (SBW) highly enough! I am new to town so do not know who to go to for anything wedding-related. I wanted to get my mother's 1969 wedding dress made into a getting-ready-robe and veil for myself. If any material was leftover I was hoping for bouquet wrap and a special something to gift to my mom. Wendy created a fabulous robe, beautiful veil with the lace from her dress, wrap for my flowers and a precious handkerchief for my mom by using a square of her gown and then cut-out a piece of lace and sewed it on one side. Seeing my mother hold this walking down the aisle is priceless. Our wedding took place in another city so all of my vendors were remote. I really wanted to someone local to do this (shop small!). This was such a special, positive experience so I will always be grateful to Wendy - she is just so, so talented. Her daughter, Erin, is who I dealt with at the shop and Erin was the best! I bought my wedding dress in Chicago and was recommended this location for alterations closer to home and I am so glad I did! Erin always made time with my crazy schedule to fit me in for multiple fittings. I wanted my strapless dress to fit perfectly before leaving for my destination wedding and while getting last-minute alterations COULD have been so stressful, Erin made sure I was comfortable with the timeline and EVERYTHING was done exactly when she said it would be. I had a lining placed to keep my top up, bra cups added, the full-lace dress was taken in beautifully and reshaped around the hips, and even my shoe straps were taken in for ~$360. (Probably Some other things done that I just don’t know about) I had 4-5 fittings starting in January for my end of Feb fitting and my dress fit SO perfectly come my wedding.
