UPDATE:
My opinion on how delicious the Rasta pasta is remains unchanged.
My partner disputed the extra $15 with Uber, who immediately credited it back. They said they would honor the complaint after we sent a screenshot of the cost on the restaurant website (18.97 vs. $33.79), but stated that they would be contacting the restaurant to adjust their Uber settings because Uber did not add the $15 charge, and itās the restaurantās responsibility to adjust it because they do not collect that extra fee for themselves.
Hopefully it all gets sorted soon. For $18.79, Iād used this way more often!
Overall stars have been adjusted to 4/5.
Original review: Delicious! Best Rasta pasta in NJ!
Weāve ordered take out twice and it hasnāt disappointed.
My partner got a chicken sandwich that he really liked. He said it was crispy, well-flavored, and had a nice piece of chicken. He also commented that he liked the curry chicken less, gave the curry a 3/5.
Iāve ordered the Rasta pasta twice and really enjoyed it both times. Iām super particular about my Rasta pasta and this one fits the bill. Itās well seasoned, has a nice amount of yummy sauce. The only thing Iād say is that itās $17 to add chicken, so for a $33 plate, it should be bigger. I pay that much (or less) for a family size helping of anything at any other restaurant. This dish is not shareable if you want to be satisfied.
Picture is of some of my plate, as I forgot to photograph it before I went in!
Definitely 4/5 on food. 3/5 overall due to excessive pricing without the amount...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been trying to find a restaurant that offers traditional Caribbean dishes as I am from the West Indies Jersey city doesnāt have much to offer when it comes to find authentic Caribbean dishes long story short I found out about Freetown road my first visit the service wasnāt organized I had the stew chicken it had little to none seasoning and the oxtail was the same, so yesterday they had a band so I said let me give them a try again This time I ordered the curry roti ,beef patties and codfish fritters they werenāt the best but they had more flavors than my previous items ordered I just donāt get the Caribbean flavors in any of the dishes coming through just my opinion. As my friend and I are eating our main course two young ladies came and wanted to be seated but all the seats were taking so our waiter brings out of bill no problem then she proceeds by bringing two to go boxes so now I feel like weāre being rushed to leave so these ladies can sit my friend went to use the bathroom and another server āA maleā approaches me and says we have two people waiting so like youāre gonna have to like leave I just brushed him off because I couldnāt believe thatās how you approach someone but trust and believe i take pride in supporting small black owned business but I would never come back to this spot everyone will have a different experience and thatās fine but this was mine and I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately I did not have a great experience. After reading all of the great reviews I was looking forward to trying it out and ended up quite disappointed. The website says the restaurant delivers and when I called I was told they were not delivering that day. I opted to pick up my order, therefore placing it over the phone and after requesting the items I wanted I was told they have a limited menu. This is something that should be mentioned prior to me placing an order. I arrive at the restaurant only for it not to be ready after coming 10 mins later than the time they said it would be. I then waited an additional 20 minutes. I get home and I am now looking forward to tasting this meal, much to my disappointment the potatoes and carrots were inedible. I ordered the stew chicken and codfish fritters. The potatoes and carrots were undercooked, which resulted with me simmering them myself to a desired texture. The fritters were good however a sauce to eat with them would have been nice (on the menu it says remoulade sauce underneath it, I assumed the sauce would come with it). A thoroughly disappointing first experience, perhaps the dine in...
