I attended GSSTI starting in October 2023. At first, things seemed fine, but I quickly realized how unorganized and unprofessional this school really is. You have to stay on them about everything, because if you donāt, things will definitely slip through the cracks.
I enrolled in the Medical Assistant program and completed it, earning my diploma and certification. I was proud of myself, especially since my last graduation was in 5th grade. I had to go to summer school for junior high, and later I dropped out of high school. So at 37 years old, finally earning my high school diploma and MA certification was a huge milestone for me ā one I took very seriously. Unfortunately, GSSTI managed to take the joy and pride out of that accomplishment.
We were told that graduation would take place in October 2024. Based on that information, I planned my life accordingly ā including an outing with family. Then they told us weād be getting an email at the end of July with more details. That email never came. When I finally called to check myself, I was casually told that graduation was now pushed back to November 14th. No notice, no official memo, nothing to let students know.
This hit me especially hard because my father, who recently overcame a cancer scare, is celebrating his 75th birthday on November 15th. That is a once-in-a-lifetime moment I absolutely cannot miss. If GSSTI had stuck to the October graduation date that was originally promised, there would be no conflict. Now, because of their constant runaround and lack of communication, I wonāt be able to walk at my own ceremony ā something that meant the world to me.
When I asked if I could walk at next yearās graduation, I was met with the same kind of runaround and no clear answers. It is heartbreaking to know that after all the money Im currently paying, the time I invested, and the sacrifices I made, GSSTI couldnāt even provide the basic respect of keeping their word and properly communicating with their students.
To make matters worse, I later discovered that the Medical Assistant certification I received is not accredited. That is something they should be honest about from the start, not something students should find out after completing the program. They charge a ridiculous price for this program, and in return you get nothing but stress, confusion, and disappointment.
I am very proud of myself for what I accomplished, but GSSTI completely killed my dream of walking across that stage and celebrating this milestone. If you are thinking about attending this school, please make sure you read the fine print. Donāt let them rob you of your money, your time, and your dreams. I will also be contacting the NJDOE to look into this school, because something here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am thrilled to share my amazing experience at Garden State Science and Technology Institute, where I trained to become a certified clinical medical assistant. The journey has been incredibly enriching, and I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to learn from such an exceptional group of instructors. Mr. Jose Moreno, Mr. Kendall Laday, Mrs. Ramos, Mrs. Shawna Murray, and all the other dedicated educators provided invaluable insights and diverse perspectives that have greatly enhanced my skills and knowledge in the field.
The comprehensive training I received allowed me to grasp a wide array of techniques essential for becoming a great medical assistant. Each instructor brought their unique approach and expertise, making the learning process both engaging and effective. Their commitment to our success was evident in their teaching methods and the personalized support they offered. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that every student could thrive, always willing to meet us halfway and provide the necessary guidance as long as we put in the effort.
I am deeply thankful for their dedication and encouragement throughout the program. Their belief in my potential and their unwavering support have been instrumental in my growth. I am now excited to apply everything I have learned in the real world, and I owe a great deal of my success to their hard work and dedication. Thank you to all the instructors at Garden State Science and Technology Institute for being there for me and pushing me to reach my full potential.
I also want to shoutout the staff in the main office especially Mrs. Nancy she very sweet , helpful, and just an amazing energy to be around, She also gives amazing advice ( she reminds me of aunt lol ā¤ļøš). But all the staff in the school is great as long as you do what you have to do and be respectful it will be a good experience.
While my overall experience at Garden State Science and Technology Institute was excellent, I do have a concern. Some students exhibited unprofessional behavior, which was disappointing. Issues such as talking negatively about classmates, bullying, spreading rumors, and even fighting were disruptive and affected the learning environment. Itās important to remember that we are all adults here, and such behavior undermines the hard work of both the instructors and those of us dedicated to learning.
Despite this, I found the program incredibly beneficial. The instructors were supportive and committed, and the school provided valuable opportunities, including a program to earn a high school diploma with flexible, self-paced assignments. Overall, I am grateful for the training and would highly...
