Lievito Pizza — Restaurant in Jersey City

Please make sure the delivery drivers utilize hot bags as food will get cold a lot faster during transport if not used. I don’t ever see the drivers using them and the food arrives warm at best. Do better drivers. It takes a few seconds to use them. Thank you. Food is good overall.

I ordered delivery again on 04/16 in the evening and the driver was very kind but again pizza was not in a hot bag. When I went to eat it a few minutes later it was pretty much cold and needed to reheat in the oven. Please if your reading this make sure the drivers use hot bags, it makes a difference.

It occurred again and driver didn’t use hot bag. I will not be ordering from here again and will inform friends and family in the area of how the ongoing issue. I suppose the owner and manager doesn’t read customers reviews and makes the proper adjustments. It’s very unfortunate.

I ordered delivery again on 7/11 and was waiting outside. The driver did not have the food in a hot bag. My pizza was a little warm at best and it’s unfortunate. The driver seems like a nice guy. Place is very close to my apartment. Owner says when it’s busy driver takes the food out of the hot bag upon arrival. I didn’t see that occur and also it would take all of 10 seconds to take the food out of the hot bag. Please make sure drivers are handling food properly as we pay good money. I ordered through Uber eats with an ETA of between 4:15/4:35. The minimum time rolls around and I received no news of wether or not my food was even ready for the driver to take. By 4:35 I called to get an update, I understand being busy but I was rushed off the phone and told my food was being picked up as we spoke, quote, “It’s going out the door now.” I hang up and proceed to not get my food for another 45 minutes. By the time it arrived it was well past the minimum and maximum time the initially provided. I requested updates on my food several times and received none. My food didn’t show up till nearly 5:30. After all that it was hot which leads me to believe that when I made the call to the restaurant to ask where it was it was not as the gentleman said, “going out the door.” And it had only gone out the door a little prior to arrival considering where I ordered from is not far from the restaurants location. So for it to still be hot after it allegedly left the location 40 minutes prior is false. The next order of business is the fact that the food is not worth the price as it was quite tasteless. The fried ravioli tasted like cardboard the chicken parm was bland and the garlic knots were hard. Overall I am extremely disappointed and won’t be ordering here again. Quarantine Delivery Review

I think Lievito might be the same as Romano Pizza in Weehawken. I was searching for a pizza spot that also had sandwiches, and I noticed they had the same exact menu. Everything sounded really good so we ended up ordering way too much food for two people. But we figured we could have a few meals of leftover, and support a local business at the same time (or at least that's what I tell myself because I think I really just wanted to pig out). Here is what we ordered:

Meatball Parm Sub - meatballs are solid Chicken Parm Sub - some parts of the chicken were a bit too thin, which ended up making it a little dry but overall, it wasn't bad Lievito's Special Pizza (meatball, sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers) - basically a supreme pizza. They don't skimp on the toppings. It's not my favorite crust, but the pizza itself was pretty good Lievito Appetizer Sampler (chicken wings, chicken fingers, french fries, jalapeno poppers, mozzarella sticks, fried ravioli) - nothing special but it's good if you just want to eat a bunch of fried stuff that's bad for you. It was a bit cold but it tasted a lot better the next day after we popped it into the toaster oven
