I wanted and ordered the sancocho, which is a soup with tubers, and usually chicken. This is not edible. If you pour salt into your mouth, that's what this soup tastes like. I haven't ordered from this place for two years, because the chicken soup had no chicken in it- two years ago. It's now under new owners and chef, and it's awful. Too salty! I'm a salt lover myself, but this soup goes beyond what's tolerable to the human body. It's foul.
It's 11months later. I made another try and ordered again from this nearby restaurant, through UberEats. My mistake. Tried the sancocho again. And was disappointed all over again! Over salted broth, with two small pieces of plátano and a tiny sliver of yuca, that I recognized because of the center root that is very distinguishable. The punch line to this joke: all it had was a chicken neck! No other meat. Just the chicken neck with all the tiny bones. I could not believe my eyes! I paid $10.00 for a pound of salty broth with a chicken neck. I also ordered pastelón ( it's like a lasagna made with ripe plátano instead of the lasagna noodle. No cheese inside, just a smattering of ground beef, about a teaspoon I would guess, and a very hard coating of some kind of melted cheese. This cheese like hard coating looked like it had been frozen after it had been nuked, but the middle was cold to the touch. A very old, half frozen corner piece, smaller than any piece I've ever seen. A small favor from the power up above, believe me. Tasteless, and hard. So bad, I spit it out of my mouth straight to the garbage can. That was priced at $7.00. I also ordered a beef empanada. It was eatable but made with frozen tasteless dough with a teaspoon of ground beef(?). Mostly dough, hard and crunchy, but I was so hungry I ate it. That was $2.00. A 3.50 tip. I had nothing to drink, so I ordered from Acme Supermarket, 2 large coconut water containers. Priced at $7.00 each, if you shop in person. Total for the Acme coconut water: $20.55! Total from La Primicia gagfest: $18.41 ? I do not understand the pricing brake down. Grand Total: $38.96 The first delivery was called in about 7:08 pm. The delivery was made at 7:45pm The second delivery by another guy was the Acme water around 8:05 pm. Both orders were made during one phone call. After the restaurant order, a message on the bottom of the page asked if I wanted to add something from another vendor, I had 8 minutes to add it at no extra charge. Stupid me, that addition cost me $20.55! I sincerely think that at the time I put in my food order, all that was left of the soup salt fest was the chicken neck and the two small end pieces of plátano. They charged me less (I figured) because basically it was salty water with a chicken neck and the two end pieces of one plátano. The half frozen thing I spit out was nuked out of the fridge and being an end piece, I think it was all that was left. I have no defense for the almost meatless empanada, but since that was my meal, I don't want to critique what I put into my body hoping I don't get sick. Hope springs eternal... I very sincerely hate to write down this terrible critique but very truthful experience, BUT - if this saves anyone from suffering this insulting assault on my system from a overdose of salt and my wallet, so be it. It's worse than the first review because it was not only the worst food anyone can try to eat, but the price of I paid was a slap in the face. I had just joined UberEats with a four month no charge introduction, but when I complained to the restaurant owner that night, and nothing was done except a very insincere apology, I called UberEats to cancel my subscription. They asked why. I told them my experience, and they said since was 48 hrs. Since it happened, they could not help me. I have cancelled, and while they are not responsible for the quality of the so called food this place sells, I can imagine how much more I could have paid for this poison. This is my story, all true. You can go there if you need swollen ankles, and you love late night...
Read moreI Normally don't put people or places on blast but today had to be the worst service I've ever gotten from this restaurant... For starters the restaurant looks like it's under new management. I ordered rice, beans, and beef stew (Why they served my beef stew in a styrofoam that folds and normally is where any other restaurant would put the rice in) So as they're putting the meat in the styrofoam that foIds, i tell the lady the gravy is gonna leak all out by the time I get home...what do you think happened?? Ish leaked all over the bag and onto the rest of the other food in the bag by the time I got home 😡....so the new owner says this is how we serve it now, if u want it in the container with the lid its $8.00 🤔 so i simply ask her but it'll be the same amount if you were to put it in there and if it aint just serve me what you would normally serve but in the container with the lid so it wont spill...She Rudely tells me this is how we serve it now and walks away..smh.. I normally get my 3 golpe from here every Saturday but as of today... No more money from me.. The old staff was on point but these new girls and the new owner behind the counter...
Read moreI ordered delivery via Uber eats.
TLDR If you are planning to eat here, you probably shouldn't if you have sensible taste buds.
My ancestors are Latinos and have woken up to a full platter of mangu with tres golpes for years of my life. This place needs help from Dominican grandmothers in the immediate area. I ordered pepper steak with onions, yellow rice, tostones , a pastelito, and a sancocho.
Pepper steak: didn't have much flavor besides salt and pepper, would have liked the steak sliced up to smaller pieces instead of massive chunks.
Yellow rice: under cooked. Basically fresh rice from a bag with yellow food coloring and veggies. Not edible
Tostones: best part of our order. Still not amazing but it's a basic dish and I didn't expect much. It did it's part.
Pastelito(empanada): it was ok. I think it was a bit burned but the chicken was cooked. It Lacked flavor and the chicken was dry.
Sancocho: extremely peppery and a different hue than I am used to but everyone does sancocho differently.
Overall not happy with me and my wife's meal. Should have chosen a...
