Speedy's Burgers & Bowls — Restaurant in Jersey City

Welcome to the neighborhood! I've watched the signs go up and opening day has come. While a bit small inside for sitting and eating, there was a decent amount of space for standing and ordering.

The Salmon burger was pretty good, with a heavy amount of cilantro and avocado. The patty was pretty thin (see pics) and it was a little fishier then other salmon burgers But the overall flavor was spot-on. The side fries had become a tad soggy on the two minute walk from Speedy's but had great flavor. $16 for a small-ish amount of fries and a Salmon burger...

The quinoa salad was ok. There were no kale stems (yay) but it took a while to make and for a big bowl we got a tiny container of oil-based dressing that we needed more of! The salad needed some sort of salt or salty cheese to finish it out.

Overall, I can't wait to try out the rest of the menu and try out...

The place is okay if you need something fast. It’s also reliable and on the healthier side so that is a pro. The food sometimes is hot or miss. I really like the Quinoa salad with chicken.

Food is a bit overpriced for taste and quality.

The customer service is a bit inconsistent. I was overcharged for the wrong order and was told it’s due to the credit card fee and was told pricing is premium. However the over charge was near 20% over the cost of my order. I walked to the store while they made the food. Upon returning they reviewed the pricing they realized they entered the wrong price l. The amount was credited back but due to the customer experience and back and forth I believe they should have done something to more to make it right after making it out to seem as though I don’t...

Really wanted to like this place and I gave it 3 different attempts, but the burgers are really some of the worst I've had in a long time. The meat is so incredibly dry and over cooked (all 3 times) and the burger bun is way to dense and accounts for like 3/4 of the burger. And the fact that it's $13 for a burger without anything else is just the ultimate slap in the face. There is a five guys and shake shack within walking distance and both are surprisingly cheaper and much better than this place (in terms of burgers). Not sure about that rest of their food, but I won't be trying if they can't cook the simplest thing...
