Hockey Rink Skatepark — Attraction in Jersey City

The fact that this exists at all is a good asset for the neighborhood, but I can only give 2 stars because it needs to be re-surfaced so bad it is almost unusable. I went here to roller blade and wasn't really able to because the pavement is so poorly maintained.

Don't have high hopes! This park is not as great as you think. During the time of exploring skate park I stumble across this park and had high hopes. Thinking it would be great, me and my friend came to check it out. The park is small and leaves no room to do much as there would be too many skaters. So whenever you would go down a ramp, just be careful as there would be scooter kids...

Recently resurfaced so it's nice and smooth, and the old bondo’d ramps were just replaced with metal ones: there is a big quarter pipe and a wedge with a funbox in between. Aside from that, there are ledges, flat bars, and a parking block. No shade to speak of. Low key spot to practice flatground and ledge tricks, and the city didn’t ruin the plaza vibe by trying to jam too...
