Taste Of The Caribbean Roti Shop — Restaurant in Jersey City

I have a craving for Roti August 4, 2025. And since I live in Jersey City I did a search and this establishment popped up I said to myself "I remember this place" years ago 7 8 years it's been awhile, I ordered some roti skins I forget the number but I was traveling with them to Maryland for family. Not less than five not more than 10.

I had a rented car I had to take back to Newark New Jersey airport and I was running behind. I made the order via telephone I made sure to keep the gentleman in the loop as I was running behind schedule but I kept him in the loop and he said fine not a problem come on by.

I got to the store and I said to him I'm here to pick up my roti skins sorry I'm late but traffic but as you know I kept you in the loop.

This man had to be the father I believe it's a family-owned restaurant treated me like a child and ushered me out of his restaurant.

The customer service was horrible but I was already expecting that based on the previous reviews. Notwithstanding, I was pleasant and tried my best to engage with the front desk staff (should be the other way around actually), but she acted like her face would hurt if she even made eye contact, far less to conjure up any type of rapport. I said thank you at least 3 times, and I didn’t even get a response. Again, I would think it would be the other way around. I rushed to head home so I could devour my beef roti. If I would be able to give this place zero stars I would start with that. Very bad food quality, my husband spent over 120 dollars in food from here, yesterday and when he got home the food was all over the bags, the food wasn’t pack properly seems like they don’t care about it. All the bags were wet and oily, it was very nasty, we had to throw half of the food away, we called them to tell them about the food being all over the bags, they didn’t care they said they can’t do anything about it, all the containers were broken, seems like they have broken containers they don’t check and they give them to the customers like that.
