Checkers — Restaurant in Jersey City

In a very rare move for us we went to a fast food restaurant and boy did we regret it.. The manager at this location wad extremely rude. It did not matter that I tried to diffuse the situation because I had 3 children in the car and was willing to pay as they never did charge me. If its not clear we had a missing order, once we advised that cashier that we where missing an order we were not charged for and will like to place that order. The cashier contacted a manager who very rudely and loudly starting yelling at us that it was not her problem and that I needed to go around the drive though once again. While trying to explain to her that the missed ordered was there mistake and I did not feel it was right to make us get back on a very long line she began to yell and curse. I of course did not want my children and their friend to hear this type of language and I can tell they were very scared at the situation; did not place the order nor will I have ever! Who know what they could have done to the food.

This type of person should not be allowed to manage a astablisment that service people... Her staff was very scared of her. I would never eat at Checkers and would not recommend anyone eats there. To add insult, I left minus an order for one of the little one I was with but all but one of the order...

I love Checkers and usually get it from the regular in Jerome Ave. In Bronx. I was in Jersey City and decided to go for the Checkers here - and it is a bad idea. I am NOT coming back to this Checkers anymore!!! I should have know better when I see the kitchen. I am feeling sick after having my first fish sandwich which has always been my favorite - I could not even eat the second one!! What was supposed to be a crispy fish patties were bogged down with grease that make it taste sour! Pretty gross. There are some serious food cross contimination between all the food - i can taste bacon oil in my fries, and my fish sandwiches, even on the apple pie. I threw away my fish sandwich and i dare not even try the double cheeseburger. I think they have not changed the frying oil for a long time. Everything smells and taste funky. I am going to throw up - its like there is a sewer aftertaste from my fish sandwich. I know that some Checkers is a hit and miss - but this one is definitely a huge mistake. I think there should be some health inspection here. Even the large Coke taste gritty at the first sip. I dont know what goes into the drink or the ice. I threw everything away. Avoid it...

I’m usually not picky with my order, if it’s something I can pick out or something like that I would. Nor do I post bad reviews all the time but I bought mozzarella sticks and when I bit into it it was cold and nasty. I went back so they can have them redo the order the young lady at the window looked at me like I had three heads and then when she went inside all of the workers in there laughed like I was asking them to do something out of the ordinary and when they gave it back to me they had refried my order including the one I bit into (you can see them through the window). So the one I bit into was put into the oil that is frying everyone else’s order. Not to mention my husband also has had multiple bad experiences with this establishment as well. And it’s always with the late nite crew (all young women and men) that have nasty personalities. There’s another lady that be there during the day time she’s really nice. Everyone else need an attitude adjustment and I don’t really take things personal but the way this young lady looked at me wasn’t cool for me asking for something simple that your cook messed up. Beware do not go here the service here...
