Hut Plate — Restaurant in Jersey City

i was super hesitant to post a review here because then i’d be contributing to more and more people finding about this hidden gem (which id much rather gatekeep for myself)… but i owe it to the guys here, so yeah: you grow up eating grilled/rotisserie chickens your whole life but none of them stick out in your memory if you think about it. the chicken from this place is one you will for sure remember, and will want to come back for more. perfectly juicy, outside crunch from the charcoal grilling. i got the lemon garlic coating and it was delicious. i also like how they used a medium sized bird (better flavor). kofta and fries were great too (not greasy) and the salad was unexpectedly amazing. usually salads are an afterthought for these platter restaurants but this one had a good mix of greens to cucumber/tomato with dressing (not too much dressing or tomato to make it soggy or limp). overall 10/10 and i will definitely be...

Love this place. The food is delicious; you can really taste the flavor from grilling. Their house salad is dressed perfectly and their crinkle fries are crispy and flavorful. We usually order their mixed plate and a half order or short ribs. The short ribs are charred and fatty—YUM.
