My partner and I chose this restaurant to have a event. My partner loved the space and thought it would be perfect for our fundraising event. We secured our spot in March of 2019. Our event was in October. We had some hiccups about a month before when the man we were dealing with was fired for stealing money from the restaurant but we were assured that what we agreed to and the contract that was signed would be honored. Fast forward to the day of the event...The Owner stated that he was going to charge us an additional $1000 for him to open the restaurant so we could set up for our event and for the time frame of the event (which had not changed since we booked in March) This was not something that was discussed. We had a lot to set up which he was aware of. He did let us in and we were able to set up. During the event most staff was very nice but some were not. Some of our guests were not treated well and if we asked for the things that we were supposed to get we were greeted with a poor attitude and as if we were bothering them. Our OWN staff had to assist with the brunch because of the attitude that was given during the service. They didn't give us enough food and at one point brought out Eggo Waffles to be serviced. iI am sorry but this is unacceptable. They were aware of the amount of people that we had coming and should have planned accordingly to accommodate our needs. In addition to this most of the staff only spoke Spanish which made it difficult to communicate. Luckily we did have someone in staff that spoke Spanish. Our team member heard the staff speaking horribly about our team and our guests. This is beyond unprofessional and it was addressed at that moment to the staff's surprise. We also noticed how the staff was treated. It was heartbreaking. We did not get all the things that we originally asked for and the owner was trying to add on extra cost during the event that were not even discussed with the team prior. The only bright spot in this situation was the Manager LizBeth. She was beyond amazing. We made all the necessary arrangements with her as she was the only one that was professional during this whole process. After a long day Lizbeth stated that we would be able to come back the next to review all charges and to ensure that our bill was accurate. The arrangement was set for next day at 7pm. The next day arrived and we had to get a call from the furniture rental company that the owner would not release the furniture until the balance was paid. The rental company is a completely separate company and has nothing to do with our organization. My partner and I arrived to the venue to be greeted by the Police. We explained the situation to them. The police attempted to get the furniture released and the owner continued to refuse. During this interaction the Owner was so derogatory towards LizBeth. He talked to her as if she was worth nothing, even to the point of making her cry. I can't even write what he said to her because it was so terrible. The owner would not take responsibility for the extra cost he was causing us to have. The furniture did not belong to us and despite the best efforts of the police, the furniture, company and my partner and I he continued to refuse to release it. When we asked for a copy of the additional charges that they refused to give us a copy. Then Police advised us to take this to court and could not understand why the owner was acting the way that he was. It even came out that an employee gave us wrong information that we were going off of and the owner continued to blame my partner and I. In any business if that is the case then you deal with that employee and you work with your customer to make things right. He was not willing to do so. My partner returned back to the venue at the agreed upon time and the owner was extremely passive aggressive towards her. They reviewed bill and it was settled. I do not recommend The Factory. The owner is not a good business person nor and employer. I hope he can see the error in his ways....
Read more(1/4)I just want to start this thread off by saying i was very disturbed by the lack of service i didn't receive at ďthefactorynj on Sunday 6/8/25. The only reason i was even there was for @jadakiss, @bigfenditv R&B birthday celebration. I arrived there exactly at 5:40p i asked the host for a menu first. Then, after i checked out the tablet menu i found a few items that i wanted. So, at this point i asked the host to be seated at a hightop table on right side by the windows. The host on duty was very short and
(2/4) wore glasses. She wasn't very welcoming and from my POV your restaurant should get someone who actually is good at hosting. This person needed some people skills don't know if she spoke fluent English or not but host needed help. She never told any server that she sat me at table. I literally sat there watching servers go by me back & forth to the R&B party for #Jadakiss next door. Not 1 person even made eye contact or acknowledged my presence đ. One of the bartenders with the long, dark
(3/4) shoulder length hair i even caught staring at me from across the room. Again, nobody ever came to my table to take my order đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸. As hungry as i was after 10mins sitting there being ignored i just stood up and walked out of the Factory. If i was the wrong ethnicity to dine at this establishment i wish i knew this prior to wasting my time parking and walking nearby. You might as well post a sign at the entrance that says "Dominicans only" so others like myself will know what time it isâźď¸
(4/4l) I walked out right by the host who sat me at hightop table and she didn't say 1 word. There was 1 man in a blue/white long sleeve button down shirt who looked like he was a manager of business. I watched him chatting to a dark skinned security staff with his back turned to me right where the ramp is to go to the right side of lounge for awhile. If i'm right and he is the manager he definitely wasn't being attentive to the patron that mattered. I had to rant about this because i was pissed off đ¤Źâźď¸
Sidebar: Keep in mind Jadakiss is black so i get it you're going to take his đ° for keeping his event at your venue. However, i just happen to be a somebody who is friends with Jadakiss's road manager Big Fendi. II have both his direct cell phone numbers and he knew i was there as we had texted earlier. It seems to me from my POV you had no problem taking the black đ° judging from the difference in crowd on the right side of lounge. But, you really aren't welcoming to Black people in general at your restaurant based on my experience. I saw some reviews from other recent patron visits that just reinforces everything that i stated above. You don't have to worry about ever seeing my face at your business again. I would never recommend your restaurant to any of my associates/friends. I reside in Pittsburgh, PA not local from NJ or NY so this is a bad reflection for The Factory. I was just visiting for the weekend and i drove 30mins to get there from Fairfield Inn Marriott East Rutherford. Jadakiss does know about this unfortunate experience as i already shared it on Threads as well as...
Read moreBlame the pandemic or blame the business? I blame the business, no excuses.
This used to be a decent place for Happy Hour, but language barriers, prejudice and poor management seem to have brought out the worst of this place.
The establishment is an American restaurant with a lounge area and dancefloor. It has three bars throughout, but Iâve noticed that they tend to open the two side bars in the back of the place with only one bathroom for each gender. It is staffed by mostly non-English speakers that seem to purposely ignore you, because they donât want to speak English, donât know how to speak English or perhaps they donât know you. Seems odd, considering that they work in an occupation where the primary responsibility is to serve and make guests feel welcome.
Sometimes you might find the staff huddled outside sharing a hookah before a rush of customers comes. Sounds alright until you are that customer and need something. Rather than showing any customer service, they huddle around and speak in Spanish as though you arenât there, then reluctantly sent someone over to help you.
I had been coming here prior to the pandemic and after safe dining was permitted amidst the pandemic. The happy hour always seemed to be a secret, because when you ask someone about it itâs as though youâve said something wrong. Meanwhile, their happy-hour is posted on a dry-erase board next to their ATM where it has been for over a year. They had common bar bites on their HH, which was nice since most places focus on drinks. Also, they had a wider HH time frame (4pm-8pm) than most others in the area. The drinks on HH were their well-mixed, draft beer, house shots and sangria, so a decent number of options for your craving.
Flashforward to September 1, 2021, and this place has decided to conditionally dishonor happy hour despite their own posting on the wall. Instead of removing their posting prior to opening, the sign was simply turned around and weâre told that there is no more happy hour as of a few weeks ago. If this were true, why was the sign still facing outward for guests to view during hours of operation? Itâs an unacceptable abuse of advertisement, especially when the posting hadnât been removed. I refuse to frequent a business that is discriminatory, negligent and has no regard for all of...
