Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Jersey Village

I don't typically review fast food establishments but Google kept asking me to, so here it is. I must clarify that my concerns are NOT about this location, but the brand in general, in the hopes that this information will be circulated to the corporate team. This location is usually very friendly and efficient, and always get my order right, so I have all positive feedback on the staff.

My main issue is that the bread for the sourdough sandwiches has changed in the past few years, and not for the better. Jack in the Box sourdough is a legendary bread that is unmatched by any other fast food restaurant offering it as a bun option. Whatever happened, JITB needs to GO BACK to the original supplier of sourdough buns, or go back to the drawing board, because the airy, mushy sourdough they serve now is just inedible. The bread needs to be thinner, and more crisp on the outside. Sourdough should not be soft and soggy. Additionally, can we bring back that mayo-onion saucer that used to grace the sourdough sandwich? I don't know why anyone ever thought they should remove it and replace it with such a crude, toddler-palate ingredient as ketchup.

My next topic involves the ultimate cheeseburger. I'm sorry but it is not ultimate anymore. It's just a little burger with two patties. It has shrunk so badly that it barely outshadows the size of a Big-Mac, yet the price is indicative of a burger with a large footprint. I would rather pay more for a properly sized burger than pay more for less than I was served in 2002. Let me be clear, pre-2002 JITB was AMAZING food. Since they started messing with all the ingredients, all I think of is a disappointing experience that I pay way too much money for. It isn't hard to make delicious fast food. You did it for decades until whatever went wrong in 2002 that turned everything into gross, sad, fake-tasting food. All I ask is that JITB go back to the formulas that brought them success, and stop trying to reinvent the menu and act like it's the same old food it always was. ...

I had to go back and this is not the 1st time this has happened. This is the instant replay of the last time I had this problem. I ask for a jumbo Jack and they asked "with cheese" and I said just plain. For the second time or MORE I got meat on bread. Nothing that makes a jumbo Jack a real jumbo jack. I just didn't want cheese and never asked for it but got meat & bread because I said a plain jumbo jack. I've tried to stick to Jack-in-a-box over the years because I grew up with them. Just from one of my many trips there I had their chicken sandwich that costed as much as others and it was a complete disappointment with the taste and size. As much as I want to leave a positive feedback and support our/ my JacknDaBox, I just can not. I feel bad that the 1st Jack n the Box I ever went to on 20th and shephetd is close now. I had many good memories there. Now it is over. I tried my best to stick with you guys. I even stopped going about 1 year ago because of bad experiences and still went back a few months ago. The SAME lady that knows me, asked me where I've been for so long will never see me there again. I'm upset because this is the end of a 40-41 year old...

Avoid this location at all cost at night!! It’s just 1 car ahead of me and I don’t know if they haven’t seen each other in yrs or what!!! Drive-through guy and Driver are just having a wonderful time talking and making jokes.. Cool really no problem car pulls to the window I order my food and pull up.. Now their really talking and just having fun, keep in mind the windows are on separate sides of the building.. Driver could have easily paid and drove on the other side of the building but instead they laughed and talk and played at the first window for about 10 min!!!! It took me backging out the drive-through for them to wanna move up on the other side of the building..
