Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Jersey Village

I’ve given this location multiple chances, but it’s been a disappointment every single time.

One visit really stood out — we walked in and there wasn’t a single employee in sight. After about 10 minutes, someone finally appeared and said, “Why didn’t you yell for me?” I’m sorry, but I shouldn’t have to yell just to get service. If you’re working alone, at least have a bell or sign letting customers know what to do.

We gave it another try today, and once again, the experience was awful. The woman working was rude and clearly didn’t care to be there. As for the donuts — they were disgusting. Cold, old, and stale, with a greasy film that lingered in my mouth. No flavor, no freshness, nothing redeeming.

I travel all over Houston working and I am a huge donut and kolache fan. The Shipley’s on Jones Rd., is the best donut shop I have ever been to. The jalapeño sausage and cheese kolaches are amazing, the bread is the softest and best kolache I have experienced., and the spicy bold bigger sausage is incredible as well. The donuts are also hot and fresh daily and absolutely delicious. This shop is clean and the service is wonderful. Very kind and friendly people every time I go. Shipley's donuts has been part of my childhood and I still enjoy eating the food! I love how fresh the donuts were when I arrive and place my order. Cookies n Dream was sweet and tasty. You can't go wrong with the glazed donuts. It was my first time trying the glazed buttermilk one! Not bad at all. Probably stick to the regular buttermilk.
