I love E star buffets and their delicious food. My favorite one is on Katy freeway, it was too far from where I was and decided to try out this location. Unfortunately I came around the time the food was Luke warm. I was very unsatisfied and I tried to let some employees know about my concern. I was told the food had just been brought from the back and someone was going to check on it. I was confused as to why? Shouldn't it be freshly cooked? Anyways .. I waited for someone to come out from the back. Only a man wearing all white with a chef hat came out to walk back and forth on the line but didn't hesitate to check temperatures.later another man came out to just refill food trays and clean the line but did not mix the food or inspect the temperature on any of the trays. I served myself 2 plates all luke-warm 😏 I hate to waste food like that. I almost asked if they could heat it up for me in the microwave, I felt horrible. I came here to eat delicious meal and I'm leaving disappointed. The only thing hot I served myself was won ton soup to fill me up.

Just left this restaurant came to dinner with my family and after taking a bite from the general tso chicken, my step son noticed it was raw. He did not have the opportunity to even eat because that was the first bite he took, taking away his appetite. I brought it to the front desk ladies showed them multiple pieces of chicken that were raw i even showed her pieces that were pink. She denied it even after clearly looking at the raw chicken stated that is how the chicken is. She then walked to the back brought vack a different piece of chicken stating that is what it should look like. Im not one to complain but when the food is clearly raw, why deny it thus putting your customers at jeopardy for food poisoning.

The food here it's decent, very limited options on the buffet, what it gets me it's that they hike the price of the buffet on holidays, no explanation, no heads up, they have a sign at the door with the prices, regular buffet for adult it's around $9.00, holiday buffet was around $14.00 we ate there this past Monday and it was $30.00 for two person. First and last time we eat there. Forgot to say that the servers walk around with an attitude and when I asked for extra napkins our server looked agitated and said something in her lenguage, I asked to repeat whatever she said in English, but she just walked away. I don't think this place deserves the star at all.

--- NK Score = 8.2/10 ---

8/10 = Appearance/Atmosphere 8/10 = Food Quality/Flavor 9/10 = Variety/Customization 7/10 = Service/Prices (Other Ratings Hidden)

--- Drinks = $1.99 --- --- Lunch (11 - 4pm) = $8.99 --- --- Dinner (4 - 9pm) = $11.99 --- --- Sat/Sunday (All Day) = $11.99 --- --- Kids (2 - 10yr) = $2.99 to $5.99 --- (Contains Americanized Chinese Foods)

Hello, I'm NK and I'm going to express my personal viewpoints for this E-Star, which will mostly consist of my own experiences with this location. I hope to provide an honest and helpful review for those who want to know more about the place.

As you walk pass the main entrance, you will witness a very wooden-forest like theme. The walls, the chairs, and tables all have textures and shades that resemble wood, with a dark green leaf-like color covering other parts of the building. The noise levels are fairly quiet from Mon-Friday (Except during Lunch/Dinner Hours!), with Sat/Sunday being a bit noisy due to the vast amount of customers that could come in.

Now, the food here is quite interesting. There's a lot of Americanized Chinese foods here, like deep fried foods, cheesy foods, and depending on what kind of food you like, you could either have a blast or leave feeling kinda down. The difference between dinner and lunch is that dinner is packed with new Seafood, from crawfish to crabs that many say are as good as restaurant quality. For the freshest foods, I'd recommend coming during Lunch/Dinner hours because that's when the foods will be rotating the fastest (Could Be Busy!).

Ok, let's talk variety! This place has a little bit of everything, from Chinese to American to Japanese, and multiple other strange dishes too. The sushi bar actually consists of many different kinds of sushi, as well as salmon and sashimi. They offer a few things your kids may like also, like Pizza, Fries, and Chicken Wings. Lastly, they have many different toppings and puddings for you to customize your own dessert!

Finally, we shall discuss the price and service of this location. I think their prices are pretty average for a buffet, unless you're getting a togo box which is $4.99/$5.99 per pound. Their service is also pretty clean, and I haven't run into any problems with them yet. In conclusion, I believe this buffet has good potential and depending on the time or day you go, it could be a hit or miss.

Recommendations: Try their Coffee Cake, it's soft and tastes like coffee with cream!

Signed NK...

So let me start off by saying this, the only good thing about this place was the waitress we got. She was very attenuative which is why even after the horrible food we had, she still got a $10 tip for a $50 meal.

Now for the bad. It honestly was horrible. I went here a few years ago and it was great. The other location off 1960/249 is where I used to go to the most and absolutely loved it! My daughter, loved it! However we do not live over there anymore so we went here. I will just say screw it and drive there next time because the food here is awful. Green beans, hard to mess up, were too hard and very bland. The peanut chicken was just cooked chicken with peanut butter slabbed on it. All of the sushi was dry, and all had cucumber in it. Like, every single option. Which there wasn't a lot of that to begin with. The crab, oysters (sauce for this was awful btw!), and clams were all dry and tasted very yuck. The crab had almost no meat in it at all. Crawfish had no flavor at all, like nothing. The noodles were hard, cold and bland. Most of the chicken items were either really chewy or the sauces were gross. The egg drop soup had some kind of weird gray/green/purple something all over in it and was very bland. Even the ice cream somehow someway tasted very stale, and runny. Like I get it, ice cream melts, but it came out the machine that way. Upon taking a few bites of some of the food he had chosen, my boyfriends stomach got upset. We even found some short black curly hair in my daughters food. So she just got a new plate. The only good food here was rice, the crab cheese stuff, and jello... freaking JELLO! Let me also add, there was a woman in the far opposite side of the restaurant that was hard core heaving and throwing up! Like LOUDLY! The waitresses and such just giggled about it and kept about their business. It almost made my boyfriend throw up who's stomach was already upset. That was our que to leave. Save yourself some money and do...

Normally really good, went last week and found a cooked bug in the mushrooms. A pretty descent sized one at that. I showed management figure things like this happen so i did not make a scene. From a business stand point, It's part of my business ethics. I figured i'll write a review, call health inspectors and go back when they get their establishment cleaned and bug free though I believe it's origin is the food that's shipped here not the actual establishment. I did get a whole new plate and things tasted pretty funny. Maybe it was my conscience saying' yuck you just found a fried bug in your food and you really are going to try this crap again? Long story short I couldn't get nothing down because of that experience. My hubby and I paid for our food, tip the waiter and left. Sad because this was one of my all time favorite restaurants. I expected my first review to be a good one. Gave three stars instead of one because they are always friendly even though I could care less about their ancient secret to make food taste better ha ha. I laugh but seriously get those bugs out of the food and check dates to be sure your cream cheese doesn't taste like spoiled milk. I know times are hard but you can't replace bugs with mushrooms lmao. Okay, I couldn't resist. It was such a big bug please make sure the cook wears glasses. Beetles/Cockroach are common mushroom bandits.......They also carry diseases uh hmm....it was cooked so hopefully my first few mushrooms were safe. After all bugs are a delicacy in other countries. Good thing this is America and bugs haven't made the menu.....wait.....the public menu and Cockroach will never. Since i gave 3 stars, didn't cause a scene and still will try this facility after I turn them in, I figured I have a right to get my jokes in 😄 I've already started drinking my diatomaceous earth 😉...
