In the past this place was blah, cheap and close by to play. Pretty beat up tee to green as far as conditions. I've strayed away and have played alot all around houston like literally and have heard that they were making renovations. So I decided to swing by, and yes they were under construction which is a hopeful sign....not necessarily a good one...yet, right? We'll this time around they did make an adjustment to a better staff as far as professionalism until you meet some of the marshals and oh my lawd that's a different story on its own. The greens were massively improved and roll pretty nice and was actually clean and flat. So whomever is the green keeper, pat on the back for you good sir, bravo. Tees were still alittle shakey but maybe that's next. One step at a time. However as an experienced addicted golfer. No one and I mean absolutely no one goes to a course because they remember how badass the proshop is...like yea no one. They go because of how badass or nice or challenging the course is. So I, in my little Google opinion would say to next time improve your course first, other facilities, then the parking lot and proshop last. Still not a bad price though for a round of golf, but yeah back to the marshal. Fix your marshals... let me tell yall somethin young bloods, i ain't nieve. Don't take my kindness for granted. I read EVERYTHING and I've been playing golf for awhile and know something about customer service too. Fix...
Read more7/5/25 update: The city has made some wonderful and significant improvements. Including a new pro shop, dining and indoor practice range, driving range lighting improvements, a brand new just opened short game area for bunker, pitching and chipping.
The course is in very good shape, just played it. It could use a bit of mowing but I’m sure the rains affect that. The greens are on very good condition. The tee boxes could use a light grooming to look presentable. Overall great work!
We played a round here on Sunday. I have not played here prior. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a free small bucket of warm up balls prior to the round. The staff here was exceptionally nice. It was very windy during play. Be aware that there are a lot of water hazards on this course. While it is a bit shorter course and par 70, it is a very challenging layout. Most shots approaches need to be thought through before executing.
If you are up for a good challenge, this is the place to be, the grounds were very well maintained. I look forward to returning soon.
8/23 update. They are building a new clubhouse and renovating the old one in to a banquet hall. It all looks great. Be aware when you finish no 9 you have to back track through the course to get back to the clubhouse as the cart path is closed from...
Read moreMyself and a coworker had a unexpected day off. We are from Dallas and decided to get a round in. We didn’t bring clubs and had to rent them. One of us is left handed and it was nice to be able to rent lefty’s. Since we rented clubs we were credited a bucket of balls for the range to get warmed up. The course was nicely laid out and the carts come with tablets to show you each hole which was cool.
On the 10th hole a “single” was paired with us. This was actually a Colligate golfer and his coach dad. As we were playing this guy and his dad would rush ahead of us and hit as many golf balls as they could from all areas around the green.
While we are trying to putt this guy is chipping multiple balls on to the green nearly hitting us. A few balls hit ours or there would be 5 golf balls around the pin and they would block our shots.
It remained like this from #10 to #18. Considering I paid $158 for the two of us to play a round just to get stuck with someone who’s skills were obviously better than ours and treated us like golf scum was sincerely disappointing.
We basically paid for 9 enjoyable holes and played the back 9 only because we wanted our...
