Tiks Tavern — Restaurant in Jersey Village

Yesterday I had the ONLY review of Tiks on Google. All these other "reviews" appeared today! It's obvious they were submitted by friends of the bar employees. They're all female and all five star ratings! Yelp says: "Your trust is our top concern, so businesses can't pay to alter or remove their reviews" I would hope that would also mean creating a conflict of interest by having friends and such write biased glowing reviews!

Point being NO BAR OR RESTAURANT ANYWHERE IN THIS TOWN GETS FIVE STAR RATINGS FROM ALL REVIEWERS WITHOUT OBVIOUS COLLUSION. Furthermore in my humble opinion ALL your "reviews" should be removed from this site.

I'm not a bar owner but I would guess that a bar that can't open it's doors on time and tells customers to come back in thirty minutes isn't going to last.

He should talk with local owners of bars like "Whatever" and "Fletcher's" previously "The Oz bar" recently sold and renamed. Honest and scrupulous bartenders are the key to success in the bar business. Anything short of that spells disaster.

For example I had trouble parking my 6000 lb Chevy 3500 EXTENDED one ton van in Tiks tiny parking lot. No side view mirror at the time and equipment to the ceiling partially blocking my rear view.

I walked in and was immediately REFUSED service at a little past noon on the theory that "trouble parking" implied de facto intoxication. The bartender knew quite well that I was totally sober but refused to serve me anyway- because she could.

I simply said "screw it, I'll go down the street" and spent the afternoon at "Whatever" bar unmolested as always.

She also purposely misquoted me to the owner (suggesting that I was rude and personal about it) when in fact that couldn't be further from the truth. But the owner trusts her word over a nine time U.S.Patent Holder with a doctorate in Engineering. His Prerogative I suppose.

Once again the very day after MY initial fair review all these other copious reviews appeared. Hmmm?

They also have "assigned" seating at Tiks. Don't sit too close to someone you don't know EVEN WHEN SITTING WITH FRIENDS- you might inconvenience that person into moving down a seat or too lol!

This is all for not because there's so little parking at Tiks they stand little chance of success. Furthermore there's now where to add parking. Location Location Location as they...

Great bar! Reasonable prices, dog friendly, and free pool! Bartenders and owners were super cool. Can't wait to go back!

I've been back twice since my original review, and have only grown to love the place more. I usually frequent places like On the Rox, JBs Pub, and Clicks, mostly for their prices and the friends I've made there along the way but Tiks Tavern has my heart - it's now our "spot", and I don't mean just for myself, my husband, and my friend, but also for our dog Lulu! We instantly felt welcomed the moment we sat down and have been remembered everytime since! Amber is not only a great bartender but a great owner as well. We've also had the pleasure of being served by Ramona who was quick for another round each time we were running low! Best part is they all spoil my dog Lulu and she loves going too! 💕💕

Overall, I'm super glad to have come across this place and if you see this review and are thinking of going, take the chance, I'm sure...
