As a foodie person, I am no stranger to good food & trying out new places. This little Pupuseria is actually a needle in a haystack. I just had a craving for pupusas so I decided to look up some places around my neighborhood. Iām really glad I found this place. The owner was so very welcoming. We had a great conversation about our different culture & our food culture. I ordered 4 fajita tacos & 4 pork pupusas. When I try out a new place, I usually like to test out the meat to see how they marinate their meat. In this case, tacos were the perfect choice to try out the meat. To my surprise, these tacos were really flavorful. The beef was nicely marinated, soft & tender. Plus the beef had a really nice grill taste to it. When I got to the pupusasā¦let me tell yaā¦these were some of the BEST pupusas I have ever had..OMG!! They were freshly made (as they should be). The sauce was done to a perfect smooth taste. The pupusas were fluffy & soft. When I bit into the pupusa with the pickled cabbage & sauceā¦it was absolute heaven!! Also, if you like tamarindo drinks, you will LOVE their version of tamarindo. It taste really fresh, smooth & refreshing. The ownerās welcoming personality made my experience so much more worth while. I would ABSOLUTELY suggest this amazing restaurant for GREAT pupusas and great food all around. You simply must give this place a try for amazing Salvadoran food....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really REALLY wanted to like this place bc Iām a sucker for an underdog, but I have to give a real review here. I ordered a beer and two ceviche tostadas for a total of $22.00. The menu was very limited and uncreative. That couldāve been forgiven but the pricing didnāt match the offerings. The ceviche was dry - I didnāt know that could actually happen, but it wasnāt pleasant. Iām used to ordering a beer and getting the bottle to finish pouring to show what I paid for but that didnāt happen. I felt like I was given half of a beer portion. I ate one tostada and took the other to go and gave it to my local handyman and he was equally unimpressed. This place could really be good if they made some tweaks. Oh and I canāt forget that I was given like 7 chips with the chips and salsa for the table. Look, I know itās tough to start a business- much less a restaurant, but if I can count the chips in the basket,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGran sabor latino is a diamond hidden on this side of town. The pupusas are excellent. You wonāt find better on jones and 1960. The owner Elmer and his wife run the establishment as a family oriented Buisness. Loved the service and atmosphere because they are very welcoming to their Customers. There is a little bit of everything on the menu. You have to give them a chance you wonāt be disappointed. If youāre trying to save a couple dollars this place is not for you! Elmer cost of goods are high because he only uses the best ingredients for his menu. He prefers using quality ingredients in order to make an impression on the Customers. People who complain about the prices are cheap and would not be happy even if the prices were lower they would find something else to complain about. This is a 5 star down home Latin restaurant that...
