AWESOME AUTHENTIC FOOD!!! Best Mexican restaurant in town for sure, and definitely the most authentic. They have authentic dishes from Guadalajara Jalisco, which is known for their amazing cuisine. This spot gets it right and transports you to Guadalajara with every bite. The quality of ingredients and preparation is obvious in every thing I tried, and even the most unassuming dish is filled with an array of complex and delicious flavors you can only get from authentic Mexican food. The torta ahogada is awesome (Be advised, for those first trying this dish, the bread is meant to be hard since it’s softened by the sauce. It is a special bread that is imported from Mexico which is meant to be drowned-hence the ahogada in the name). If this doesn’t sound like your thing, no worries! Try anything else, they have great options. Among the things I tried, the lonche de pierna, was just as awesome and will most likely appeal to those not familiar with Guadalajara cuisine. To top it all off, the staff is super friendly and provided great service. They even gave us free dessert!

I like authentic Mexican food so I thought I’d try this place out and order a torta to go. Everyone who worked there was very friendly, clean and helpful. Since I never had a Torta Ahogado, the owner Hector came out to greet me with a plated sample so I would know what to expect while I waited for my food. Let me tell you, never have I ever had a torta like this! (and I’ve lived in Houston my entire life) Everything from the sauce to the presentation and their pleasant explanation of this delicious food’s history just blew me away. He even gave me a sample dessert, Jericalla. A refreshing and pleasantly sweet custard, kind of like flan but with its own unique flavor. Food was excellent & the service was super friendly! I had a taco suave de carnitas and each of the tacos dorados de carne. The sauce for the tacos dorados was delicious and I liked that the cilantro & onions come on the side so you can put as much or as little as you like along with some salsa selections for taste. 5/5...
