Tonight my family tried out Abby’s Mediterranean Grill, and I can honestly say that as a foodie, this was an excellent experience. First off, we were greeted by Abby who was extremely helpful, and without doubt, has that famous Southern hospitality. My wife ordered the Lamb Chops with Hummus and French Fries. I ordered the Gyro Platter with Falafel, Beets, and Potatoes. The children shared a Chicken Shawarma Wrap. We all loved the food, it was just the right portion size without being overwhelming, like many places tend to be. Omar then came out and brought us some delicious Baclava samples. They were so tasty that we ordered more! In fact one of them tasted very similar to good quality Scottish Shortbread, which is at least from me, praise in itself. What sometimes impresses me even more is the fact that we were served food on real plates.and with proper cutlery. This is a rare nicety that makes me want to return. There is nothing like the real McCoy. I was also impressed with the price of the food, which was exceptional considering the quality of the produce. My hopes are that Abby’s Mediterranean Grill will be a success and provided the food quality or service does not change I don’t see any reason why this eatery cannot do well. Thank you for the delicious food and we’ll see you again...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVED the food. I had the spicy buffalo shawarma platter with falafel and grape leaves (new for me) and it was INCREDIBLE.
First, the place is quite small, but cozy. There is enough seating and I loved the small mom and pop shop vibe that was there. This is a small business and it feels that way too (in a good way). I ordered for pickup and the food was already there waiting for me. Good first impression!
I got home and to my surprise it was still steaming hot, which is pretty impressive. They loaded my plate up with shawarma and loved the rice that they had. The chicken was incredibly juicy and tender, but so flavorful and seasoned. The rice was incredible too, it was also seasoned as well. The falafel were pretty great albeit a bit small, but the grape leaf was pretty interesting. It is an acquired taste that I really really liked, the only thing I can compare it to is a very pungent and somewhat sour roll of rice. It was really really good though and I wish I ordered some more. Portions were great though, I had a ton of chicken and rice and I have leftovers, so no complaints there.
Overall, I'll definitely come back again and order some more. Genuinely great food and great...
Read moreVery disappointed and wondering how this place could possibly have such high ratings. I do not normally rate but felt obligated to call out our experience as the rating are NOT at all representative of this place. The food was bland and the chicken smelled old and boarder-line not edible. The tabouli was brown and we couldn’t even dare to try it. The fountain drinks were warm and they had no ice. The host/server couldn’t care less about customer service. The bathroom was completely filthy and had no paper tower. Their daughter was in PJs with her stuff spread out front and center of the restaurant. Expect to eat in the heat as they had no AC and one fan blowing out the front door. We felt bad so we stayed hoping the food would make it worth wild but it was literally unbearable. I understand that this is a mom and pop and we want to support local businesses but it appears that they could careless and lacked total and complete professionalism. We will absolutely NOT...
